Since it's Golden Week, here's an additional post.
Five days after the great tsunami was suppressed.
An inspector from the adventurers' guild arrived in the royal capital, and various inspections were being conducted.
The guild staff was responsible for taking care of the inspector and his party, and as a result, the already busy guild staff was utterly exhausted without a single exception.
It was announced not just within the guild but throughout the City of Run that the dungeon would be closed for at least a month.
During that time, adventurers had no choice but to take on surface requests.
It was only adventurers with considerable reserves who could afford to rest comfortably, and their numbers were certainly not many.
Normally, there would be one or two subjugation requests left on the bulletin board, but now there were none at all.
Guard requests were even scarcer.
In the first place, requests that would come around to f-rank adventurers were limited to the ever-posted herb collection or mineral collection.
And yet…
"This is troublesome…"
Scratching his head, Nils averted his eyes from the bulletin board.
To his surprise, even the requests for herb collection and mineral collection, which were supposed to be always posted, had been halted.
"I'm sorry, Nils. It seems that the e-rank and f-rank adventurers all rushed to gather herbs and minerals yesterday and the day before… so the purchasing department put a stop to it."
"Y-yes! No, it's not your fault, Nina! The purchasing department is to blame, and…"
Not realizing that his admired receptionist, Nina, was right next to him, Nils ended up grumbling.
Eto, who was quietly chuckling without making a sound, and Amon, who was smirking beside him, were also there.
The three of them were not in such dire straits that they couldn’t eat enough to last today and tomorrow.
However, since it had been declared that they wouldn’t be able to venture into the dungeon for at least a month, they didn’t want to deplete their reserves any more than necessary.
While the three of them were in this situation, Ryo passed by, coming out of the purchasing department.
"Oh? You three, what about requests?"
"It seems even the collection requests have been halted."
Eto answered in place of Nils, who was still frozen and unable to react to others.
"Are you looking for something, Ryo? You just came out of the purchasing department."
"Yes. I came to see if there were any ores for alchemy practice, but they aren’t selling any… There are none at the general store in town, and the alchemy workshop seems to be closed… I was planning to easily get what I needed in the dungeon on the fifth layer, so I didn’t prioritize it. This is a problem."
"The fifth layer, so magic copper ore?"
"Yes, that's the one."
Ryo nodded.
"That stuff sells for quite a high price in town, doesn’t it…"
"When I saw it at the general store before, a fist-sized piece was 500,000 florins."
"Fifty gold coins…"
Amon, who had been listening to Ryo and Eto’s exchange, was stunned.
"It is produced on the fifth layer of the dungeon, but the adventurers' guild doesn’t buy it. They say it’s because they don’t have a good relationship with the alchemy guild in town. That’s why it’s not stocked in the purchasing department here either, and it becomes a surprising amount in town."
Eto explained the reasons for the high price.
Hearing that, Ryo nodded thoughtfully.
After a moment of contemplation, he opened his mouth.
"Would you three like to take my request?"
"Eh?"
The two, excluding Nils, who still hadn’t rebooted, expressed their surprise in unison.
"There’s a possibility that magic copper ore can be collected nearby other than the dungeon, and…"
"Yeah, the abandoned mine in Rusei Village, which is a half-day’s walk west of the City of Run."
"Four gold coins per person, twelve gold coins for the three of us. I’ll pay even if we can’t collect it. For each fist-sized piece of magic copper ore, it’ll be twenty-five gold coins. If it’s larger, we can negotiate a bit more, and if it’s smaller… we’ll discuss it then. The condition is to return safely to the City of Run as a group. What do you think?"
