Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 50: Bloodbone Incense 🕯️

Published: January 31, 2025

On the truck, as Old Man Sun lit the incense in his hand, the scent began to drift further and further away, slowly causing a stir in the spacious Birch Forest Town.

Several wild dogs hidden in the wilderness sniffed at the strange smell, their eyes gradually turning red, and then they ran towards the direction from which the scent came as if they had gone mad.

Zombies, mutated beasts, and even many herbivores were attracted by the aroma of the incense, continuously rushing towards the convoy.

...

Meanwhile, in a small residential building in the center of Birch Forest Town.

“Mayor Li, the brothers on lookout said that Sun Ruixing and the others have driven out, and they’ve already reached the outskirts of Birch Forest Town,” a thin boy said tremulously to Mayor Li.

“Got it. Tell all the professionals to get ready. We’ll go collect the remaining people under Sun Ruixing immediately,” Mayor Li, lying on a spacious bed, naked and enjoying the services of a young girl, nodded in satisfaction upon hearing the news.

The boy watched as Mayor Li's lewd hand rubbed against the chest of the young girl, a flash of resentment crossing his eyes before he turned and left the room.

Seeing that there was no one else in the house, Mayor Li flipped over and pressed the girl beneath him, forcefully pinching her face as he said with a wicked grin, “So, Feifei, how’s the job that Brother Li arranged for your brother? Being my messenger is much safer than going out to kill zombies and mutated creatures.”

The girl beneath him initially wore a tense expression, but then forced a stiff smile at Mayor Li, “I should thank Mayor Li for his kindness to Feifei.”

Seeing the girl’s expression of confusion and sadness, Mayor Li laughed heartily, his slightly plump face coming closer, and soon the room was filled with sounds of heavy breathing.

...

The large truck led the way directly towards the toll station in Mudanjiang City, followed closely by several vehicles filled with survivors.

“Qiangzi, what do you think the situation in Mudanjiang City is like now?”

Sun Ruixing, driving, chatted with Qiangzi, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

“I estimate that even if it’s better than ours, it can’t be too much. You know, Sun Brother, there are no troops around Mudanjiang City,” Qiangzi shared his thoughts on the current situation, which were mostly correct.

“Who says it’s not? But these old folks just don’t believe it. I have no choice. If something happens later, we’ll have to count on you and the brothers to put in some extra effort,” Qiangzi had been an old friend of Sun Ruixing, one of the earliest to follow him when the apocalypse began, so Sun Ruixing naturally trusted him.

“Don’t worry, Sun Brother, this is what I should do,” Qiangzi patted his chest and said to Sun Ruixing.

“However, Sun Brother, are we just going to keep these people fed? Recently, when the brothers went out for supplies, they found that the food left behind was dwindling. I’m afraid the remaining food in Birch Forest Town won’t last us for a few months,” Qiangzi expressed his concerns.

Hearing Qiangzi’s complaints, a complex struggle flickered in Sun Ruixing’s eyes, which was soon replaced by determination: “These elderly people are all alone and helpless. If we don’t care for them, they’ll surely die. Isn’t that the same as killing them ourselves? I, Sun Ruixing, can’t bring myself to do such a thing. Let’s not mention this again in the future.”

Qiangzi silently sighed, choosing not to say anything more.

Just as the atmosphere in the truck fell silent again, Qiangzi was about to speak when a sharp sound of tires screeching came from behind, followed by piercing screams.

“Help! Help!”

“Quick, stop ahead! The last vehicle broke down, and there are mutated beasts!”

“Boss, boss, there are mutated beasts!”

Upon hearing the shouts from the rear, Sun Ruixing immediately stopped the large truck, grabbing his war blade and wooden shield, and quickly got down.
