Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2558: Flame Mark 🔥

Published: February 13, 2025

Ye Zhongming was thrown out of the area he had just stepped into by those furious rocks. Perhaps because he had retreated far enough, the stones could no longer reach him, and the attacks temporarily ceased.

However, the erupting columns of lava continued to spew forth. He didn’t know why they had not fallen yet, still shooting upwards and penetrating the dark clouds above. Ye Zhongming looked up and saw that they still hadn’t come down, but he had a feeling that these lava columns would return when they were needed.

He turned his gaze forward, took a deep breath, and began to sprint.

At Ye Zhongming’s current level, his speed was so fast that only an afterimage remained, and within just a few seconds, he covered hundreds of meters.

This was still due to the fact that the path wasn’t completely straight, and there were some lava pits close to the path, with the erupting lava columns spilling rocks that occupied half of the roadway.

In the distance, Red Boy was grinning.

He saw that as Ye Zhongming dashed forward, a series of lava pits erupted behind him, creating a visual scene reminiscent of a doomsday landscape.

Then, Red Boy saw Ye Zhongming come to a halt.

He had to stop because in front of him, dozens of lava pits appeared side by side. The lava they expelled formed a line, and only a narrow gap in the middle allowed one person to pass through, but at that moment, crazed rocks were wreaking havoc there.

Behind him, the lava that had shot up into the sky finally fell, transforming into a torrential rain of lava that engulfed Ye Zhongming.

In the first wave of lava, Ye Zhongming did not make much effort to defend himself; he was testing the temperature of these things.

When it landed on his gear, the damage was minor. When it hit his skin, it hurt a lot, but the damage was still slight, although a kind of fire poison lingered.

After assessing the power of the lava rain, Ye Zhongming began to evade and proactively defend.

These things indeed didn’t pose high damage individually, but they were too numerous and dense. Too many ants could kill an elephant, and Ye Zhongming estimated that if he didn’t move, the cumulative damage would reduce him to ash.

Ye Zhongming’s speed was quick, and the defense of his equipment was decent. Plus, he had many backup weapons in his space. The King of Cloud Summit was using his own methods to fight against this dense rain of lava.

However, after a while, Ye Zhongming realized that this was not a sustainable approach.

The lava rain seemed endless. In such a short time, he had already exhausted three weapons to protect himself and his armor.

Although he still had many weapons left in his space, the problem was that the lava rain showed no signs of stopping. On the contrary, since the eruption of lava had not ceased, the intensity of the lava rain seemed to be increasing.

Ye Zhongming couldn’t help but focus on the gaps in the row of lava walls, where countless stones were roaring out.

If he wanted to escape this area, he could only go there, apart from retreating backward.

Through the occasional gaps, he saw the red shadow on the distant peak again, not knowing what it was, but he felt a gaze upon him.

Thinking of it, Ye Zhongming took action, holding a shield in each hand, making some preparations before charging towards that gap.

Due to the loss of aerial defense, the lava rain continuously struck Ye Zhongming’s protective gear, popping and cracking. The durability of his gear was rapidly decreasing, but Ye Zhongming didn’t care; he charged straight into the opening.

There, the rampaging rocks came at him like cannonballs, making his two shields clatter. Ye Zhongming struggled to move forward, gritting his teeth and pushing against the stones with his shields.

Each step felt as if he was pushing a massive stone.

But Ye Zhongming knew he could only endure and keep moving forward.

Fortunately, his physical attributes were excellent, and the bonuses from various equipment were still in effect, allowing him to painstakingly reach the gap, which was also where the stones were most rampant.
