Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1157: King Fish 🐟

Published: February 11, 2025

Here is the edge of the Lava Sea, where the magma glows in a bright red color, estimated to be around seven hundred degrees Celsius according to Earth's standards.

Evolvers, or rather, warriors who have mastered secret techniques, or mutated beings, naturally possess a much higher tolerance for temperature than ordinary humans. However, there is still a limit.

Especially for humans and humanoid races, their bodily structure determines that they do not have good resistance to such extreme heat. Although the Holy Father is a top-tier ninth level powerhouse with extremely formidable abilities, if he were to push his limits, he might survive for a while in such extreme temperatures. He could even use some of his skills to break through the magma and pull up Red Hair, who had fallen in.

However, this guy values his life too much; he was even reluctant to use his own power when chasing after Red Hair. How could he risk entering the magma?

Moreover, there is a huge shadow in the sky blocking the area. That ninth level monster, which the Holy Father referred to as a beast, is watching him. If he overexerts himself, that beast would definitely seize the opportunity to attack him. If it could eat the Holy Father, it might really be able to break through the spatial rules of the secret realm and go to another place.

The Holy Father would never be willing to become someone else's pawn.

He glanced at the Lava Sea, which had completely returned to its original state, then looked at the terrifying shadow hidden behind the black clouds in the sky, shook his head, and turned to leave.

The shadow in the sky remained still until the Holy Father's figure completely disappeared. Only then did the huge black clouds slowly descend upon the Lava Sea, and a pair of enormous eyes like full moons opened, scanning the slowly rolling magma.

However, it seemed unwilling to endure this high temperature. It quickly rose back into the sky, then retreated into the distance, gradually disappearing.

Everything seemed to have returned to calm.

But beneath the current Lava Sea, it was a completely different story.

A strange life form was curiously circling around the already unconscious Red Hair, occasionally pecking gently at the bones of her body, which had been melted away by the magma.

Red Hair's skin and flesh had completely disappeared, leaving only bones that seemed to be engraved with thorn-like patterns, and a few glowing clusters at her head, chest, elbows, and knees.

The Bone Dragon Throne had not vanished; instead, it was tightly fused with Red Hair's skeleton. The Light Soul Whip, which had exploded from Red Hair, reappeared around her neck, likely due to its fusion with her, but it had dimmed to merely a few points of light attached to the bones.

By normal standards, Red Hair should be considered dead at this moment.

Yet, her skeleton was withstanding the extreme magma, merely sinking slowly.

Surrounding her were nearly transparent schools of fish, each possessing a piece of purple magic crystal, all of which were actually seventh level beings.

It’s unclear what it was about Red Hair's bones that attracted these seventh level magma fish, but they were pecking at her skeleton little by little. The thorn patterns began to fade significantly, and the glowing clusters started to flicker, as if they might extinguish at any moment.

These magma fish seemed to be absorbing Red Hair's energy.

Many of the fish displayed excited behavior after feeding, constantly swaying their tails. Some unique signals spread out, attracting more and more magma fish to gather around.

Soon, Red Hair's skeleton was completely surrounded by these magma fish. The thorn patterns on her bones disappeared entirely, and even the Light Soul Whip vanished after flickering, swallowed whole by these fish.

However, for some unknown reason, after consuming enough, the energy that flowed through their transparent bodies seemed different from the nutrients they originally needed. After digesting, they began to show adverse reactions.
