Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Chapter 649: Demon World Gate 🌌

This is Satou. To handle sudden situations properly, you either need sufficient experience or a pre-established manual that covers every possible scenario. Perfect, instantaneous responses only exist in fiction, I believe.

“The Demon World is encroaching—that’s terrible!”

Arisa shouted after hearing the divine oracle from God Tenion.

“It’s okay. We won’t let the Demon World and the Human World merge.”

It’s like a cancerous tissue infiltrating.

We’ll just surgically remove it cleanly here.

“We originally came to seal the gate connecting to the Demon World, so what we have to do hasn’t changed.”

It’s not just a seal—we’re aiming for a complete separation.

I haven’t done it before, but based on my experience traveling parallel worlds, I think it’s possible.

“That’s right! Let’s go, Red (Arisa-chan)!”

“Alright! Let’s save the entire world!”

At Hikaru’s words, Arisa raised her fist in agreement.

As always, Arisa has a hero’s spirit.

“Then, let’s pick up the pace. Ready?”

“Roger.”

After Liza nodded to me, she turned to face the others.

“Let’s move, Yellow (Pochi), Pink (Tama), White (Nana).”

“Roger that!”

“Aye aye~?”

“Yes, Orange (Liza)!”

The golden members joined the silver members, and together they annihilated the massive army of vanguards.

“When we reach the cavity ahead, we should see the Demon World gate!”

While supporting with magic from behind, I informed my companions.

There were only a few vanguards in front of the Demon World gate—but wait? The number of demons is increasing.

I manipulated the menu to check details.

They have special abilities (abilities)?

—And their levels are too high!

As I closed the menu, I saw my companions leap into the cavity.

—This is bad.

In the next moment, a blinding flash nearly vaporized my Orichalcum.

◇

“...Master.”

“Are you okay, Nana?”

“Yes, Master. I successfully deployed the Guardian Kingdom (Paladin Kingdom). It blocked enemy unit attacks but is overloaded and requires some cooldown time, I report.”

It would’ve been bad if I had delayed pulling back my comrades with spatial magic.

Thanks to Nana’s emergency deployment of the Guardian Kingdom (Paladin Kingdom), we managed to make it in time.

“Nyu!”

“They’re coming!”

Two demons cut through the remains of the Guardian Kingdom (Paladin Kingdom), trailing explosions as they charged in.

Both wield purple greatswords.

One dual-wields; the other carries a shield.

I leapt in front of the demons using earth shrinking and confronted them with my self-made Holy Swords in both hands.

Three slashes approached: the shield-bearer thrust forward. I parried the godspeed thrust with the Holy Sword in my right hand. Meanwhile, the dual-wielder’s first sword came in a diagonal slash. Expected. I blocked it with the Holy Sword in my left hand—wait, did they slice through my Holy Sword?

I twisted my body to evade the first slash, and before the second could follow, I silently cast “Explosion” to blast them away—but the shield-bearer blocked it. And remained unscathed.

A rain of blue beams attacked the dual-wielder as a follow-up—Lulu’s gunfire.

The dual-wielder dodged every super-high-speed bullet that should’ve been unavoidable. No, it wasn’t them dodging—the bullets curved, seemingly avoiding the target.

“—Meiko’s technique?”

My thoughts raced as Lady Ringlande’s voice echoed from behind, sounding slow and distant.

The dual-wielder came at me again. I parried a downward slash from above right, dodged a horizontal slash from the left with body movement. Fast. The right sword swung back. Sacrificing my Holy Sword, I deflected the attack and blocked the shield-bearer’s thrust, coming from the side, with my magic power armor—pierced through? I immediately discarded the armor, knocking the shield-bearer backward.

I then dodged the dual-wielder’s delayed attack using earth shrinking.

‘—Master.’

Arisa’s intent was transmitted through clan communication.
