Chapter 643: Inner Dan and Upgrading

Zhao Hai and Laura stared blankly at the strange fish. They were surprised that these strange fish used this method to fish—it was truly bizarre.

Zhao Hai and Laura were both curious about these strange fish. Now that they were very close, Zhao Hai became cautious. He wanted to see what these strange fish were really up to. Were they planning to attack them?

However, Zhao Hai wasn't worried. Although these strange fish seemed to have formidable attack power, he remembered that the blade scale whale was equivalent to a ninth-level expert. There was no way these strange fish could penetrate the whale's scales.

As those strange fish swam around Zhao Hai, he was surprised to find that they did not attack the blade scale whale but instead acted as its guardians, surrounding it protectively.

Confused, Zhao Hai asked the strange fish, "What's going on? Are these guys very docile? That can’t be right; they don’t look like it."

Cai'er smiled and replied, "Young master, these strange fish can no longer be considered magical beasts of the sea; they should be classified as half-demon realm creatures. As long as they are half-demon beings, they won't attack us here, because my aura is all over the magical beasts. Creatures from the demon realm rely on me for survival, so they treat me with great respect."

Zhao Hai was taken aback. He hadn't expected such a result. He replied, "Really? I didn’t know our Cai'er was so capable; this is truly fantastic."

Cai'er grinned and said, "Young master, rest assured. As long as there is demon realm aura here and I am present, no one will dare to attack you."

Zhao Hai laughed heartily, "Then I'll wait for your protection here. Let’s go and see what else is down there." As he spoke, Zhao Hai directed the blade scale whale to dive deeper.

Nonetheless, Zhao Hai still collected a few of the strange fish. After all, they were creatures he had never seen before, so gathering them could only bring benefits.

When Zhao Hai and the others reached a depth of two thousand meters, the strange fish scattered, and another batch of them swam over. These new strange fish looked even more sinister and were more bizarre than the ones Zhao Hai had seen before. They resembled crocodiles without legs, fierce and intimidating. However, they still didn't attack the blade scale whale, escorting it down another thousand meters.

Then, another group of magical beasts appeared, escorting Zhao Hai and his companions down yet another thousand meters. Zhao Hai began to realize Cai'er's status in the demon realm; it was even higher than that of an emperor in the human realm. The magical beasts instinctively protected her aura, which was truly impressive.

Zhao Hai and the others continued to dive to nearly ten thousand meters but still did not spot the demon octopus. Zhao Hai looked around in confusion. Even though they were now ten thousand meters deep in the ocean, they still couldn’t see the bottom of the trench. Just how deep was this trench? Zhao Hai was genuinely uncertain.

However, Zhao Hai wasn’t anxious; he continued to dive. The magical beasts in the trench were getting larger and looking more hideous, and their combat power seemed to be increasing. Almost all the magical beasts here were equivalent to eighth-level experts, and there were many of them. If these magical beasts made it to the sea, the entire sea tribe would be in turmoil.

But this also excited Zhao Hai; he wondered just how deep this trench really was. He instructed the blade scale whale to dive straight down.

They dove nearly five thousand meters more when suddenly a large octopus appeared on Zhao Hai's monitor. This octopus was swimming slowly, looking quite similar to a normal octopus, except it was enormous. Including its tentacles, this octopus could reach over a hundred meters in length—far too large.

What surprised Zhao Hai was that the head of this octopus was completely black, and on its body’s backside, there was a large white demon pattern that almost covered its entire back. Its tentacles were also white, resembling the whiskers of the demon pattern.
