Chapter 642: The Aura of the Demon Realm?

Zhao Hai smiled and said, "General, there's no need to worry. Whether it's cold currents or demon octopuses, I have my ways to deal with them. These matters are indeed quite useful to me. If you have things to attend to, you can go ahead and do them; there's no need to mind me. When I am ready to leave the Endless Sea, I will definitely visit Mermaid Mountain."

Upon hearing this, Luo Ying understood that Zhao Hai would certainly go. She felt it unnecessary to say more, especially since Zhao Hai had already demonstrated his strength, and he indeed had the qualifications to make such statements.

After chatting a bit more with Luo Ying, Zhao Hai left the Azure Dragon Battle Snail. He was indeed planning to catch those demon octopuses, which grew into ninth-level experts and were nearly on par with the Dragon Clan, so Zhao Hai was quite curious about them.

Returning from Luo Ying, Zhao Hai didn't head straight to catch the demon octopus but instead returned to his space to check how the sea dragon clan members were settling in.

However, he didn’t go directly to the sea dragon clan; instead, he used a monitor to take a quick look at the situation there. Everything was quite good; the sea dragon clan members were settling in well. After all, they were now in the sea and didn’t require houses, so Zhao Hai felt reassured about their arrangements.

Next, Zhao Hai switched the view to Mermaid Island. He hadn’t expected that just a day without checking on Mermaid Island would result in those Dragon Clan members making a move against it. He wanted to see what the damage was like on Mermaid Island.

As soon as he switched the view to Mermaid Island, he was taken aback. It wasn't that Mermaid Island had suffered severe damage; on the contrary, there were no signs of battle at all, as if nothing had happened. This made Zhao Hai reassess the strength of the merfolk.

From Luo Ying’s words, Zhao Hai had already learned that the coalition against Mermaid Island consisted of the Dragon Clan and the Church of Light. To deal with Mermaid Island, they would first have to travel by boat, which was nearly impossible. Besides the budah family, there were likely no human ships that could safely sail to Mermaid Island.

The second option would be to fly, but given the Dragon Clan's pride, they would never carry humans to attack Mermaid Island. Therefore, the attackers must include many ninth-level experts.

With a large number of ninth-level experts attacking, yet there were no signs of battle on Mermaid Island, it sufficiently demonstrated the strength of the merfolk. Attacks from ninth-level experts are not easy to handle.

Seeing that nothing had happened on Mermaid Island, Zhao Hai felt relieved. He now wanted to catch a demon octopus and explore the Soul Abyss Reef, wondering if there were any special features there; after all, it was impossible for all the sea tribe people who entered to not come out.

As long as he clarified those two areas, Zhao Hai planned to return to the mainland. However, before heading back, he would make a trip to Mermaid Island to meet the beautiful mermaid Lady King and see if he could learn the water refinement technique, which Zhao Hai had long coveted.

After reflecting on the tasks at hand, Zhao Hai confirmed his plans. The first was to capture the demon octopus, which was quite simple as the trench was not far from them, and he could head there anytime. Although the demon octopus was ninth-level, it posed no threat to Zhao Hai. He planned to catch just two for space upgrades.

Once confirmed, Zhao Hai rested well in his space for a day. The next morning, he rode the blade scale whale toward the trench where the demon octopuses were known to appear.

In the ocean, this trench had a notably ominous name—the Demon Trench. It was named so because of the demon octopuses that frequented it and due to the inherent dangers of the area.

Before long, Zhao Hai arrived at the edge of the Demon Trench. On the surface, the trench appeared to be just an unfathomable canyon; however, Zhao Hai could sense a chilly aura occasionally seeping out, making him shiver involuntarily.
