Chapter 378: Little Gold
This little guy also understood Zhao Hai's meaning, snuggling in Zhao Hai's arms like a child, excitedly squeaking a few times before picking up an apple to bite into.
At this time, Zhao Hai called Laura and the others in. As soon as they saw Zhao Hai holding the little monkey like a child, they were all very excited and gathered around.
Zhao Hai smiled and handed the little monkey to Laura. Laura excitedly hugged it, and since the little monkey had probably realized the relationship between Laura and Zhao Hai, it didn't show any hostility and quietly lay in Laura's arms, nibbling on the apple.
At this moment, Cai'er flew over and hovered in front of the little monkey, curiously looking at it. The little monkey looked back at Cai'er, and suddenly Cai'er stretched out her hand, snatching an apple from the little monkey's grasp with a small vine.
The little monkey was stunned for a moment and then became furious, chirping loudly as it jumped out of Laura's arms and chased after Cai'er, who laughed and ran away.
The space became lively with the monkey's calls, Cai'er's laughter, and Zhao Wen also joining in. It added a few more bursts of energy, making Zhao Hai feel a bit overwhelmed.
After a while, Zhao Hai finally managed to call them to a stop, and then he led Laura and the others out of the space. Of course, the little monkey now held a big apple in its hand, and Zhao Hai even gave it a name—Little Gold.
Once they exited the space, Little Gold looked around excitedly, squeaking twice before jumping onto Zhao Hai's body, using one hand to hold onto Zhao Hai while the other, still holding the apple, pointed ahead incessantly, leaving Zhao Hai and the others puzzled about what it wanted to do.
Seeing that they didn't move, Little Gold became even more vocal, continuously pointing forward. Zhao Hai and the others had no choice but to follow the direction it pointed. Only then did Little Gold quiet down, contentedly nibbling on the apple in Zhao Hai's arms.
Just then, a sudden "ow" came from ahead, causing Zhao Hai and the others to freeze momentarily and halt their steps, looking ahead.
They remembered that Jin An had mentioned a formidable magical beast on this island, and this sound seemed to come from that kind of beast.
As they stopped, Little Gold became restless again, making a commotion which left Zhao Hai with no choice but to continue moving forward.
Along the way, Zhao Hai neglected to collect plants since every time he stopped, Little Gold would make a loud fuss, leaving Zhao Hai feeling quite helpless.
However, Zhao Hai also noticed that Little Gold was trying to lead him somewhere, which piqued his interest. He wanted to see what Little Gold was going to show him.
After walking more than three miles in, they hadn't encountered any magical beasts. What puzzled Zhao Hai was that along the way, they had not seen any other types of trees; it seemed that the entire island only had breadfruit trees, which was quite strange.
At that moment, they suddenly heard a rustling sound ahead. Zhao Hai and the others couldn't help but stop. Just then, several enormous shadows emerged from the front of the woods.
When these large shadows came into view, Zhao Hai realized that they were incredibly large apes, crawling on all fours. Unlike ordinary monkeys, their hind limbs were slightly shorter, while their front limbs were longer, making them appear to be hunched over. However, even in this position, their height reached seven to eight meters, and if they stood upright, they would definitely exceed ten meters.
Zhao Hai and the others stood still, knowing they had encountered the magical beasts Jin An had mentioned. Looking at their appearance, Zhao Hai could tell that these beasts were likely very powerful because they resembled the giant ape from the movie "King Kong," almost identical.
Watching their towering, hunched bodies and the muscles covering them, Zhao Hai had no doubt about their strength. The gorillas he had seen in reality on Earth were far smaller than these giants, but they were known for their immense power. How strong must these creatures be?
