CHAPTER 377: The Little Monkey
Just after healing the blade scale whale, the spatial prompt sound immediately came: “Discovered a mutated whale-type magical beast, strong attack power, level thirty, cannot be raised in the space, animal data can be purchased in the space store.”
The biggest change in the ranch's prompt sound now is that all the animals have turned into magical beasts, and even the spatial prompt sound refers to them as magical beasts instead of animals.
However, the spatial ranch still cannot raise the blade scale whale, likely due to the absence of a seawater pool, which Zhao Hai found puzzling. He had already collected quite a bit of seawater, so why wasn’t there a seawater pool in the space yet?
Now Zhao Hai didn’t want to think too much about it. Since the blade scale whale couldn't be kept in the space, there wasn't much point in leaving it there. He decided to let it out to serve as an underwater escort for the Peach Blossom. With that thought, Zhao Hai waved his hand and released the blade scale whale into the water. This time, the whale didn't attack the Peach Blossom but followed it like a guard submarine.
Zhao Hai finally breathed a sigh of relief and instructed Jin An to continue heading towards Monkey Head Island. Although the blade scale whale didn’t defeat the arrow turtle, it had to be acknowledged that it was still a ruler of the sea, only held back by the arrow turtle's advantage, which is why it couldn’t defeat it. Other magical beasts at sea generally wouldn’t dare to provoke the blade scale whale; it had been safe so far.
Two days later, Zhao Hai and the others could finally see Monkey Head Island from a distance. To be honest, the island's shape did resemble a giant monkey's head, with its mouth open and a head full of green fur, looking quite lifelike.
Zhao Hai instructed the blade scale whale and arrow turtle to scout around the island to find a route for entering the island.
Although they were still some distance from Monkey Head Island, they were extremely cautious because there were numerous underwater reefs appearing, along with some strange rocks protruding above the water's surface. If they didn’t choose the right route, their ship could run aground and sink.
After two days of scouting, Zhao Hai and his group finally found the route leading to Monkey Head Island. However, the information Jin An received was incorrect; there wasn't just one route, but three, with one being wider and the other two narrower.
The wide route could accommodate a five-masted ship like the Peach Blossom, while the narrow routes could only fit a three-masted ship like the Arrowfish or even smaller boats.
Additionally, these three routes were not straight; they were winding. Now Zhao Hai understood why Jin An had previously received information stating that a water mage was necessary to navigate these routes. This was because the sharp turns in the route sometimes required a water mage to help steer the ship; otherwise, the ship would run aground.
Zhao Hai didn’t mind this, and after scouting the route, he immediately instructed Jin An to steer the ship into the widest route. At the same time, he carefully monitored the screens to see when he would need to use water magic.
He also ordered the blade scale whale to follow underneath the ship. If anything happened, it could provide escort, ensuring their safety.
Though this route wasn’t long, it took them a full day to reach the shore of Monkey Head Island. To their surprise, they discovered a natural dock right at the shore, large enough to accommodate ten five-masted ships.
Beyond this dock, the waters close to Monkey Head Island had no reefs, while the outer reefs of the island surrounded it like an asteroid belt protecting the planet. Once they passed through the reef, they could sail safely around the island without any underwater obstacles, which intrigued Zhao Hai.
After securely docking the Peach Blossom, Zhao Hai and the others disembarked and walked onto the dock. Zhao Hai examined the dock closely; it was indeed naturally formed with no signs of human excavation. It was astonishing that such a natural dock existed, possibly unique in the world.
