Chapter 154: Buffy the Saint of Wind
Galen followed the voice and saw the grand elder of the Versailles Family, Caesar!
Galen knew Caesar, having had some limited interactions with him, although he had a poor impression of Caesar, feeling that he was a very hypocritical old man.
Now, this hypocritical fellow was standing behind another proud figure. This proud figure appeared quite old, with completely white hair and beard, and a face full of wrinkles that could squish a mosquito. When Galen saw Buffy, his eyes involuntarily narrowed. He was well aware that ordinary ninth-level experts would maintain their dignity and not easily attack lower-level warriors. Even if they were to make a move, they would do so openly. But Buffy was different; he was indifferent to such matters. For him, killing was simply killing, without any distinction between fair play and ambush.
Thus, upon seeing Buffy appear, Galen immediately tensed up, fully on guard while watching Buffy, who still stood there, aloof and unapproachable.
Meanwhile, Grandma Merlin, who was observing the situation from within the space, was taken aback when she saw Buffy appear. Her expression changed, and she said to Zhao Hai, “Young master, be ready to pull Galen into the space at any moment. This old fellow seems to have a death wish for daring to face a ninth-level expert.”
Upon hearing this, Merlin understood everything. She had sensed something off about Galen earlier but couldn't pinpoint what exactly was wrong. Now she realized that Galen was already aware he would be facing a ninth-level expert, which explained his strange demeanor.
Zhao Hai was momentarily stunned, then his expression changed as he asked, “Grandma Merlin, are you saying that the old man outside is a ninth-level expert?” The old man Zhao Hai was referring to was, of course, Buffy, as there was no one older than him present.
Merlin nodded and replied, “Yes, that old man is called Buffy the Saint of Wind, a well-known figure for nearly fifty years. He is a practice fanatic and a cold-blooded killer. Since he became a level 5 mage, he has been incessantly killing for the Versailles Family. You could say his entire growth process has been one of killing—a terrifying figure.”
Zhao Hai's face changed. Although he had never seen a ninth-level expert act, he had heard of their formidable reputation. Galen was the person he cared about most, and now Galen was facing a ninth-level expert. Zhao Hai nearly pulled Galen back into the space immediately.
