Chapter 52: You Kill Him, I'll Kill Him
The man in Chu Yang's grasp remained unconscious, completely oblivious to the situation!
Chu Yang did not intend to take his life.
Chu Yang was not afraid to kill. For him, killing was incredibly easy. His priority was to resolve the immediate crisis, but his main goal was to uncover the origins of these people!
Most likely, these individuals hailed from Iron Cloud! They were likely death warriors supporting the crown prince Tie Butian!
Only these people would not want Du Shiqing to reach Iron Cloud. If Du Shiqing were to use his miraculous medical skills to restore Tie Shicheng, then Iron Cloud would face the significant embarrassment of having two rulers!
No matter how meticulously the father and son collaborated, the subordinates might not share the same sentiment. Now that Tie Butian had become the spiritual pillar and recognized savior, the sole hope of Iron Cloud!
Tie Shicheng's recovery would greatly impact Tie Butian's prestige and lead to a significant drop in the morale of the entire army. No military would remain loyal to two leaders at once!
If that happened, and they had to face a heroic overlord like Diwu Qingrou, Iron Cloud would almost certainly be doomed!
If these were indeed the people, Chu Yang couldn't kill them! The strength of Iron Cloud, when compared to Great Zhao, had already been a definite disadvantage; not a single bit of power should be wasted.
Such death warriors were treasures within the army. If he killed them, one thing could be assured: at least one battalion would be thrown into complete chaos. Whether it would affect the overall battle situation was yet to be seen, but it would certainly impact the local conflict.
Therefore, since Chu Yang planned to reverse fate and have Tie Butian defeat Diwu Qingrou, he couldn't bear to kill these people!
Chu Yang's figure shot out of the dense forest like a meteor, with a large group of men in black rushing out behind him, relentlessly pursuing. Chu Yang paid them no mind, rising twice and already arriving between the two battling factions. While still in mid-air, he shouted, “If you still wish to take his life, then all of you stop immediately!”
With that said, he landed on the ground, stumbled, and rolled on the ground with the man in his grasp. When he stood firm again, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. His face had turned completely red, and he was panting heavily. Suddenly, a cough escaped him, and a mouthful of blood splattered onto the ground in front of him.
During this entire sequence, he had held his breath, never relaxing. The internal shock was truly overwhelming. Now that he finally exhaled, his body felt limp, as if all strength had left him.
However, the first thing he did was position the edge of his sword against the neck of the man he was holding. The cold light glimmered ominously!
He knelt on the ground, dragging the unconscious man, with the sword edge steady, gasping for air, looking extremely disheveled. Yet his gaze remained as calm and cold as ice. There was no doubt that if they did not comply with his demands, he would certainly behead the man at the first opportunity!
The situation in the arena had become very dangerous. Old Gao, surrounded by six men, despite not being at a disadvantage, had no hope of freeing his hands to rescue Du Shiqing. The six opponents, knowing they were not Old Gao's match, fought desperately, trying to hold him back.
Everyone was wounded, yet they fought to the death.
Meanwhile, two others had already lunged onto the carriage! Four of the eight accompanying guards had already fallen dead on the ground! It seemed the next moment would see the carriage broken open, allowing them to seize Du Shiqing!
But at that instant, the situation suddenly reversed! Everyone in the fierce battle seemed to have been struck by a spell, staring in shock at the youth who had rushed out, silent for a moment.
The boy looked disheveled, his clothes torn, appearing breathless. His mouth was stained with blood, making him seem on the brink of collapse.
