CHAPTER FORTY-NINE: Brother Chu Yang, I Am So Happy
“Qingwu…” Chu Yang tightly embraced the soft body in his arms, his voice nearly hoarse; from deep within, it seemed that his soul resonated as he called out this name.
Mo Qingwu pressed her petite head firmly against Chu Yang’s chest, forcing herself to control her emotions and not cry out loud, but her small mouth was already flattening to the extreme, and tears flowed silently in torrents.
The urge to hold it all in reached its peak, leaving her a bit dizzy.
Chu Yang felt his shirt quickly soaking through, and the dampness spread rapidly; Mo Qingwu's body trembled slightly in his embrace, yet she remained silent, gritting her teeth, while her arms around him tightened even more.
What kind of grievances had she suffered this past year…
In this moment, she needed to vent!
Vent her grievances.
Chu Yang understood this, so he didn’t ask her anything; if he did… Mo Qingwu would only feel worse. Let her stay in his arms, feeling his heart’s intent like this…
Chu Yang quietly held her without speaking. After a long while, the slight tremors in Mo Qingwu’s body finally began to calm down. A low, muffled sound escaped her throat, and she softly coughed a few times in Chu Yang’s embrace.
Chu Yang could feel Mo Qingwu’s breath coming out from her small mouth, causing his skin to feel a bit heated.
In his arms, Mo Qingwu was rustling as she bowed her head, finally pulling away slightly from Chu Yang's embrace, yet she still clung tight. One hand carefully wiped her tears.
Her movements were subtle, as if fearing that Chu Yang would notice what she was doing. She didn’t want Brother Chu Yang to see her tears after being apart for over a year.
She wanted to be happy; she wanted to smile at Brother Chu Yang; but she couldn’t help but cry. Tears of joy, tears of grievance, tears of heartache, tears of finally reuniting…
She wiped forcefully, trying to erase her tears, then looked up to smile at Brother Chu Yang and say: “Brother Chu Yang, I miss you so much.”
She wanted to show Brother Chu Yang the joyful smile he loved to see; to let that smile tell him, I’m doing well. Because I’ve finally awaited your arrival, no matter what I went through, it’s all good, the best…
But the more she wiped, the more tears flowed, never seeming to dry.
She felt a bit flustered and hated herself. Why did she have to cry? Don’t cry, Xiao Wu, Brother Chu Yang is here, what are you crying for? You’re safe now, you’re fine, with Brother Chu Yang by your side, no one can hurt you… She struggled to convince herself, but couldn’t help but cry…
Eventually, she gave up the struggle, letting the tears flow, sobbing, “Brother Chu Yang, I’m sorry, seeing you makes me want to cry…”
Chu Yang gently stroked her long hair, feeling his eyes sting a little, and said, “If you want to cry, then cry. Brother Chu Yang is here with you. My Qingwu, I like you whether you’re crying or laughing. I’m happy either way…”
Before he finished speaking, a loud cry broke out as Mo Qingwu opened her mouth and started to weep bitterly, her heartache spilling out.
“Wuwu… Brother Chu Yang, I miss you so much, wuwu, I even dreamed of you that day… wuwu…”
Mo Qingwu sobbed as she cried, wiping her tears on Chu Yang's sleeve while pouring out her heart. In that moment, she could no longer remember the grievances that almost drove her to collapse; all she wanted was for Brother Chu Yang to know how much she missed him…
How I long for Brother Chu Yang’s embrace… It is the only place in the world that brings me peace…
Chu Yang held Mo Qingwu and slowly took a few steps, sitting down in the chair that Jun Xizhu had used; allowing her delicate body to kneel on his lap, he lovingly looked at Mo Qingwu as she cried, sobbed, and poured out her feelings, her rosy lips trembling, her face reflecting grievance and caution, as if afraid that Brother Chu Yang might be annoyed…
Gradually… the caution faded away, leaving only grievance and longing…
