CHAPTER 48: Controlling Firepower, Holy Clan
“Oh.” Including Du Shiqing, everyone let out a long “oh,” as if they understood everything. They immediately looked at Chu Yang with sympathetic eyes.
Such matters of love being forcibly taken away are indeed too common, especially among brothers; there are some things that simply cannot be said.
Chu Yang cooperatively put on a look of unbearable pain, cradling his head in his arms, curling up, fingers tightly clutching his hair, even pulling out quite a few strands, clearly showing how deeply he was suffering.
“Sigh.” Du Shiqing sighed heavily and said, “Let’s not bring this up again in the future.”
The eight knights all agreed in unison.
Even the old man driving the carriage looked at Chu Yang with much gentler eyes. No wonder when he asked him that day, this little guy showed a desperate and helpless expression that he tried so hard to conceal; it turned out to be like this.
“Thank you.” Chu Yang buried his head deeply, gratefully whispering, and in pain, he said, “Once I fulfill my late father’s dying wish and repay Mr. Du’s great kindness, I will disappear from this world, hehe, and live alone in the mountains from then on.”
“A man is a man; what’s there to worry about without a wife?” Du Shiqing patted his shoulder, offering some comfort, and said, “There’s no need to take it so seriously.”
Chu Yang nodded heavily, sighed, but didn’t speak. It was evident that he was feeling blocked and hard to relieve.
After this incident, several members of the team completely changed their attitude towards Chu Yang. There was a faint sense of closeness. A boy who is loyal, filial, infatuated, and bears humiliation with burdens; how rare he is...
Chu Yang’s performance completely conquered these people. Even he himself did not realize that in an instant, he had gained so many virtues.
The leading man even sighed as he patted Chu Yang’s shoulder: “Little brother, there’s no need for that. Just be open-minded; as a man, look further ahead. As long as you have money, beautiful girls are everywhere in the brothels.”
Chu Yang “sadly” nodded and raised his head, “forcing” a smile that looked worse than crying.
Though no one spoke, the way they looked at Chu Yang was much gentler. The weak, no matter when, will always evoke sympathy from people.
Even the old man who had always been by the horses and never mingled with the crowd sighed deeply, raised his shoe soles, and knocked off some ash. His eyes, which seemed to see through the world, also appeared a bit dazed.
Chu Yang sighed, but in his heart, he knew he had completely passed the hurdle with Du Shiqing.
What remained was the journey to the Iron Cloud Nation.
The old foxes in the Iron Cloud Nation are not as easy to fool as Du Shiqing.
Du Shiqing is a master of his generation. It is said that no matter what difficult or obscure illness, once it reaches him, can be cured instantly. But he is just a healer, and with such high medical skills, everyone is polite to him; in terms of experience in dealing with people, he may not have much.
And Chu Yang also knew that Du Shiqing would be disgraced a few years later because of the matter concerning the Iron Cloud Nation. Later, due to some unknown reason, the illness of the king of the Iron Cloud Nation was leaked, which turned out to be due to Du Shiqing’s poisonous hand years ago.
This incident caused an uproar throughout the lower three days.
Du Shiqing also exploded because of this matter. Facing the accusations from heroes around the world, he admitted to this and then, in despair, took his own life! A generation of medicinal masters thus turned to dust.
Perhaps he was just a healer, or perhaps he was forced into some things, but what was done was done.
Chu Yang did not feel any special regret for him; he had deceived and utilized Du Shiqing all this way without feeling guilty. Yet, over these few days, it was clear that this kind-hearted master was not a bad person.
