CHAPTER SEVEN: The Path of the Nine Calamity Sword Master!
“Did you just say you need my help?” Chu Yang felt an inexplicable sense of goodwill towards the person in blue, but both parties tacitly refrained from asking each other's names. Since the other was in disguise, they wouldn’t reveal their true appearance, so why would they tell you their name?
The person in blue shared the same concern: being mysterious, how could he expect the other party to be completely honest with him?
“Indeed, I see you are quite enthusiastic about news from the Canglan War Zone, and I think you will definitely be entering it! Since that is the case, why don't we travel together?” The person in blue, Chu Feiling, said with a faint smile.
“Travel together?” Chu Yang frowned. With the other’s strength, why would he need to accompany someone like him?
“Indeed… to be honest, my journey will be quite troublesome. Moving too quickly will draw attention. Moreover, some people know that I am traveling alone, which is quite inconvenient…” A hint of melancholy flickered in Chu Feiling's eyes.
“I see.” Chu Yang softly said “Oh,” and candidly remarked, “But have you considered that with your strength, anyone who would pose a threat to you would definitely be an expert! If you travel with me, in the event of any trouble… the first to suffer would certainly be me!”
“Of course, I have my concerns about that.” Chu Feiling evidently appreciated the other’s frankness and said, “Therefore, our collaboration will last until we reach the Fiery Mountain Range. Besides, I won’t let you suffer any loss; I will ensure you are satisfied. Furthermore, if anything goes wrong, I have my methods to keep you safe.”
“So you’re saying I’m just a decoy?” Chu Yang frowned.
“Yes,” Chu Feiling replied calmly.
“But… why did you choose me?” Chu Yang asked in confusion, “There should be plenty of people more suitable than me. Also, as you can see, I’m not a quiet person; my ability to stir up trouble isn’t any less than yours.”
“Because… you are quite pleasing to the eye.” Chu Feiling smiled, thinking to himself that it was fate; he had just arrived in the middle three days and had encountered Chu Yang without even having the chance to seek another person.
“I think you’re also quite pleasing to the eye.” Chu Yang laughed heartily.
Chu Feiling smiled warmly. For nearly twenty years, he had endured so much pressure and worries, facing both internal and external troubles, alongside the tragedies of life; he had hardly ever smiled sincerely, and any feelings of distress had never been alleviated. Yet today, he felt particularly relaxed.
This feeling surprised even him, but he realized that it had been a long time since he had felt this way. He involuntarily credited it to the young man before him, who seemed to possess a kind of power that made him feel at ease.
He found himself somewhat infatuated with this power.
He also thought it strange that this young man had killed without flinching, blood flying everywhere, clearly a ruthless character; how could such a person make him feel at ease?
But the truth was undeniable.
“Alright, let’s travel together then.” Chu Yang chuckled.
“Hmm, if you encounter any troubles along the way that you cannot resolve, I can help you solve them.” Chu Feiling said warmly, smiling brightly.
“No need. My troubles, I always resolve myself.” Chu Yang lightly shook his head, “Asking for help… is detrimental to my future and my mindset; if I were to develop a habit of dependence, I would be stuck for life.”
Chu Feiling was taken aback, admiration flashing in his eyes, along with a bit of surprise. He hadn’t expected this young man to have such profound insights. It seemed this little guy had grand ambitions!
“You must have some reason for going to the Fiery Mountain Range, right?” Chu Yang asked, either intentionally or unintentionally.
“Yes, I’m looking for a kind of spiritual medicine!” Chu Feiling sighed, thinking of his injured father, feeling anxious.
