The few people looked fierce and fearsome. Although they were dressed in human clothing, a fluffy tail still peeked out from the hem. Their eyes gleamed with a greenish light.
"Wolf Clan members!" Cat Nini whispered, âThey are the ones who ambushed me before... Hmm, these few are only at the earth level pinnacle. The several heavenly level experts arenât here; I can't sense their presence. They might be lurking in the dark or searching elsewhere, but we can't determine that yet..."
Chu Yang frowned, âYou shouldn't speak for now. I'll handle them. Even if you need to say something, change your tone. Especially donât say âmeow!ââ
âMeow~~â Cat Teacher replied.
Chu Yang felt uncertain. This guy had so many racial habits; it wouldnât be easy to cover them up!
Chu Yang stepped forward and said in a deep voice, âWho are you? In broad daylight, blocking the road outside Purple Twilight Cityâis this a robbery? Donât you fear the laws of Eastern Sovereign Heaven?â
From what Cat Teacher told him, the entire Nine Heavens Pavilion placed great importance on law and order.
Especially in Eastern Sovereign Heaven, the rules were strict to an outrageous degree.
The leading werewolf said indifferently, âFriend, donât use the Eastern Sovereign law to intimidate us. The battles between our two tribes belong solely to the demon race; they do not involve any humans! Weâre blocking your path merely to inquire about some informationâhow does that relate to robbery?â
Chu Yang frowned in confusion, âTwo tribes? What two tribes?â
This werewolf's words seemed calm on the surface but concealed a massive trap. If Chu Yang responded with even a single word, or agreed, it could instantly establish a crime.
Because he hadn't even begun to interrogate yet.
The werewolf glanced at Chu Yang.
Chu Yang gazed back innocently and confusedly, resembling the naĂŻve Chu Divine Doctor from that day.
âHas this friend seen this person?â The werewolf flicked his wrist and produced a drawing, which he unfolded with a swish.
The person in the drawing was unmistakably Cat Nini. No matter the facial features, eyes, or physique, it was depicted vividly.
If Cat Nini hadnât changed shape, he might have thought he was looking in a mirror.
âHmm?â Chu Yang furrowed his brow and examined it closely before shaking his head in confusion, âI havenât seen him... but... this person looks strange, like a cat. Such an odd appearance; if I had seen him, I would definitely remember.â
As he spoke, the werewolf fixed a fierce gaze on Chu Yangâs eyes.
Chu Yang maintained an innocent expression, but as if growing impatient from the stare, he suddenly turned furious, âWhat do you mean by looking at me like that? Are you going to hit me just because I said I haven't seen you!? Is there no law left?â
The werewolfâs eyes glinted coldly, âYou can scram!â
The other werewolves stepped aside, allowing Chu Yang and Cat Nini to pass. Just as Cat Nini walked by, the werewolf suddenly blocked him, âYou? Have you seen this?â
Cat Nini looked up in alarm, âAh? Uh? Umm?â He was nervously swallowing, making great effort to suppress a âmeowâ that nearly escaped.
Chu Yang shouted from the side, âAre you rational? My brother is a mute⌠He canât speak, so ask me anything; what does forcing a mute to talk mean?â
The werewolf paused, âMute?â
Cat Teacher cursed Chu Yang internally: Youâre the mute! Your whole family are mutes! But facing the werewolf's fierce gaze, he could only open his mouth, âAh~ Uh uh⌠UmâŚâ
The werewolf took one look, frowned, and said, âPeh, he really is a mute⌠Letâs go together.â
Just the thought of capturing a mute to interrogate him felt like turning into a laughingstock.
Chu Yang and Cat Nini dashed away.
Chu Yang was puzzled: Why was it so easy?
He heard the werewolf shouting from behind, âEveryone retreat, keep hidden, and carefully inspect the coming and going of people; all routes are blocked. Be alert, donât let that Cat Nini escape!â
