Transcending the Nine Heavens

Chapter 1005: Heaven and Earth: Water Moon Pavilion 🌙

Published: March 8, 2025

By the time Chu Yang arrived at the front door of Water Moon Pavilion in the evening, his heart was still thundering: Don't you want to fold the nine heavens?

The words of the Sword Spirit!

Chu Yang naturally understood that what the Sword Spirit meant was: Don't you want to have the strength to fold the nine heavens?!

I do want!

Of course, I want!

Not only do I want it, but even the strength to fold the nine heavens cannot satisfy me!

But right now, this road of mine, I must walk step by step! As long as I don’t die, one day, I will reach the end! By then, I will watch the rivers and mountains crumble with a smile, remain indifferent to the world, and stroll leisurely amidst the cold heights while listening to the wind and rain!

Chu Yang lifted his head, and the three characters “Water Moon Pavilion” came into his view.

Water Moon Pavilion.

The first building of Heaven's Secret City!

There is a building in the water that feels cold; the moon in the water is reflected in the sky, a person gets drunk in Water Moon Pavilion, and vaguely sings a long song to the vast cold!

Chu Yang focused his gaze and saw that this was a vast lake, misty and boundless, almost without end. Now it was dusk, and the surface of the lake was filled with mist, rising like clouds in the sky.

The clouds in the sky roiled like the mist on the water's surface.

In the long sky, a bright moon began to rise, dimly visible; on the water's surface, a bright moon followed the waves, appearing and disappearing in the mist. Standing there, one could hardly distinguish between the world and the heavens!

Behind the plaque of Water Moon Pavilion was a White Jade Bridge.

This was the only path in and out, making it seem both slender and noble!

Only about ten feet wide, it spanned a hundred feet across the lake, directly connecting to the Water Moon Pavilion in the center of the lake. Walking on the White Jade Bridge felt like riding clouds and mist, with a breeze filling one's sleeves. The mist on both sides floated, further enhancing the feeling of riding the wind and returning home.

Being here, even a mundane person would feel a touch of elegance!

Chu Yang stepped forward, and two men stood guard at the bridgehead, asking, “Who goes there?”

Chu Yang replied, “Southeast Chu Yang, here to attend the banquet.”

“Oh! So it’s Special Envoy Chu.” The two men bowed together, “Please!”

Chu Yang thanked them and took a step forward.

Upon reaching the bridgehead, he saw two large stone tablets on either side. The one on the left read: “Wanderer on the horizon, shape formless; drunk in Water Moon Pavilion, lost in dreams!”

The one on the right read: “After a drunken night in the mortal world and heavens, killing and drawing swords without mercy!”

Chu Yang silently recited the words.

The tall man beside him laughed and said, “Special Envoy Chu must be here for the first time at Water Moon Pavilion, so you probably don’t know the origins of these lines, right?”

There was a hint of pride in his tone.

Chu Yang raised an eyebrow, “Oh?”

The tall man laughed, “The lines on the left were left by Ning Tianya, Ning Supreme, when he came to drink. Before leaving, he inscribed these two lines with his finger, without hesitation!”

Chu Yang remarked, “Oh… it turns out that Ning Supreme had been here.”

The tall man laughed heartily, “Indeed, and the one on the right was left by Bu Liqing, Bu Supreme, who came here a few months later. After seeing Ning Supreme’s message, he laughed and said: ‘Since Old Ning has left a message, I shall leave mine too!’ And so he carved those words.”

The tall man's recitation was vivid, especially as he imitated the imposing tone of the supreme.

Chu Yang shook his head and chuckled, “You are truly knowledgeable.”

In his heart, he thought, even if Bu Liqing really came here, he probably wouldn’t have said those words… These stone inscriptions were undoubtedly true, but this guy’s words were pure nonsense!

As he walked onto the White Jade Bridge, after taking about ten steps, he felt a gentle breeze on both sides; the wind brushed against his elbows, and in an instant, he felt a sense of soaring.
