The Water Magician

Since this was written as a short story for a postcard, it’s quite brief...

“Do you know, Abel? People live with flesh, and die with flesh.”

“Yeah, I don’t know.”

Suzu spoke passionately while Abel lightly brushed it off.

The two were now heading over the mountains. Before that, they were gathering meat as food supplies. Their bags were filled with dried meat, and they each held the pieces of meat that wouldn’t fit inside.

“‘Meat is art. It is the art of red and white’... Don’t you think that’s a wonderful saying?”

“What do you mean by red and white?”

“Red meat and marbling. Even just red meat feels like it’s meat! But when the balance of the two is perfect, it becomes art.”

“I see, I didn’t know that. I didn’t know that saying either.”

“Please remember it. If you say it to a gourmet, their perception of Abel will surely change.”

“Hm. By the way, is that a quote from someone famous?”

“No, I just thought of it now.”

“Hey…”

Meat is delicious.

Delicious things are justice.

Therefore, meat is justice. Proof concluded.

I’m really sorry for how short this is.
