Since it's Golden Week, here's an extra post.
"How unusual, having dinner alone."
In the guild cafeteria, a b-rank adventurer swordsman approached the water attribute magician who was quietly eating dinner by himself.
"Yeah, all three of them are on a request at the abandoned mine in the western village."
The swordsman who approached took a seat right in front of the magician.
"Even if you sit there, I won't treat you, you know?"
"I’m not expecting my junior to treat me!"
As expected, the swordsman Abel intended to pay for his own meal properly.
"Seniors can always treat their juniors, you know?"
"I have no intention of treating a wealthy junior!"
With that, Abel ordered the daily special.
"It’s a tough world out there..."
"Is that really something to say at this moment…"
"By the way, it’s rare for you to be here, Abel. Having dinner at the guild cafeteria at this hour. Where are the other members?"
"I like the food here, so I come often."
Indeed, Abel was enjoying the daily special that had just been served.
"Well, it is certainly delicious, but..."
"Just because we’re party members doesn’t mean we’re always together."
Abel spoke only when he had swallowed his food, ensuring there was no rice in his mouth.
How skillful.
"Ah, I understand now why Abel is out alone at this hour."
"Huh?"
"You plan to have a meal here and then head out to the pleasure district, right?"
"Wha—what are you talking about?!"
With that, Abel hurriedly covered Ryo's mouth with both hands and looked around.
It seemed there were people he shouldn’t let know about that.
"You never know who might be listening."
"The walls have ears, and the shoji have Mary."
"I get the walls have ears, but who the hell is Show-Jinny Mary…"
In any case, Abel confirmed that no one who shouldn’t hear had, and he felt relieved.
"I'm not actually going to the pleasure district."
"Could it be for a specific woman…?"
"Idiot. That’s not it either."
"Abel… trying to get involved with Lin would make you a pedophile, you know…"
"Hey, stop! Lin is Warren's…"
Just as he said that, Abel suddenly realized.
"Forget that last part…"
"What a mismatched duo."
One was a towering giant over two meters tall, and the other was a little kid around 150 cm.
"Well, if there’s love, height doesn’t matter…"
Nodding earnestly, Abel looked forlornly at the now empty daily special plate.
"So, that means you and Rhea are…"
"Idiot, it’s not like that!"
Abel denied it with a bright red face.
Is he in middle school or something?
(Eto seems to have lost his chance before confessing… what a shame.)
However… Ryo thought back to his own situation.
Since coming to "Fai," he had completely lost any so-called sexual desire.
That meant he was no longer attracted to anyone, male or female, in that way.
It wasn't really a problem since he didn’t have any issues with it, but…
Thinking of the blushing Abel, Nils, and Eto, Ryo felt a bit dazzled.
"Abel, if one meal isn’t enough, you can always have two, you know?"
"No way, if I eat two meals for dinner, that'd be a bit much…"
"You just need to move around as much as you eat."
"Huh?"
"You just have to do some night work."
Ryo said as he nodded gravely.
"Night work? Like being a pimp in the pleasure district or something?"
"No, it’s the job of sneaking into the den of a shady merchant, stealing the ill-gotten gains, and distributing them to the poor!"
"Um, Ryo, that makes you a thief. Even if you call it a righteous thief, at the end of the day, you’re still a thief."
"Abel, you're acting like a pseudo-hero…"
"Don't use 'pseudo' to describe me."
Ryo's expression turned to despair, while Abel was arguing against what he felt was an unfair accusation.
"Abel, more importantly, I wanted to ask you something."
"More importantly? Isn’t that what you brought up? Well, whatever, what is it?"
"I couldn't get anywhere in the South Library, so I want to go to the North Library, but are there any usage restrictions?"
Ryo had heard rumors that ordinary people weren’t allowed into the North Library.
