The Water Magician

Chapter 46: Report of Abel 📜

"Well then, we're going to dive into the dungeon. Ryo and Amon, do your best in the lecture."

With that, Nils and Eto headed down into the dungeon.

Breakfast was enjoyed together in the dining hall attached to the Guild.

The taste was somewhat inferior to that of the Golden Wave Pavilion, but it was delicious enough and, moreover, incredibly cheap, which was appreciated.

And, it was all-you-can-eat.

Both the breakfast at the Golden Wave Pavilion and the Guild's dining hall being all-you-can-eat was a blessing for Ryo.

It reminded him of breakfast buffets at business hotels on Earth.

Breakfast is very important.

Ryo and Amon filled their stomachs and made their way to the lecture room located on the third floor of the Guild’s main building.

The lecture room was a tiered room, similar to a university lecture hall, rising higher towards the back.

It was just about five minutes until the clock struck nine, but there were only about ten people inside.

The two took seats in the second row from the front.

(There are fewer people than I expected.)

However, just five minutes before it started, nearly twenty more people entered, and in the end, about thirty participants took their seats.

Thus began the five-day "Beginner Dungeon Lecture."

"That's impossible."

While Ryo and Amon were attending the beginner lecture, members of the 'Red Sword' were gathered in the dining hall attached to the Guild.

Originally, they were discussing the schedule for the upcoming days, but the conversation shifted to Abel’s return, which then led to a discussion about Ryo's water attribute magic.

"No way. Even if you say it's impossible... it actually happened."

When Abel explained Ryo's magic, he was immediately denied by Lin, a wind attribute mage.

"Certainly, ice wall is a magic associated with water attribute magic. But it's thin enough to be sliced through by wind's air slash. Well, that's fine, but to generate an ice wall in mid-air and drop it... that's just impossible."

Lin insisted, holding a fork with vigor.

"Listen! Magic can only be generated around the caster. It doesn’t matter whether it's water attribute magic, wind attribute magic, or fire attribute magic. Therefore, it’s impossible to generate magic or create magical phenomena at a distance from the caster."

"Ah, yes..."

Abel, unable to retort to Lin's forcefulness.

"Calm down a bit, Lin. At least it seems that way to Abel."

Rhea, smiling wryly, tried to soothe the agitated Lin.

"You know magic can only be generated near the caster, right? That's common knowledge. Yet, Abel... "

"True. Light magic can only be generated near the caster too, and healing can only be used on targets right next to them. It would be incredibly convenient if we could heal someone at a distance... but that's simply impossible."

Rhea also pondered with her head tilted.

"I see... Well, that must have been the case. This yellow magic stone was obtained from a golem at that time."

With that, Abel explained the yellow palm-sized magic stone he had extracted from a rock golem.

"That’s a really big magic stone. What are you going to do with it?"

"Ryo said it’s mine since I defeated it, so I can do whatever I want with it..."

Since Abel extracted the magic stone from the rock golem he had kicked down and incapacitated, it was for sure that he had defeated it.

"Abel feels bad for Ryo, but considering its size, the royal family will want it, right? It wouldn't be fair to sell it and split the profit evenly, would it?"

"Yeah, that’s true."

Abel nodded at Rhea's point.

"Huh? If you offer it to the royal family, you would get money, right? Wouldn’t it be fine to just give half of that to Ryo?"

Lin interjected, seeming confused about the problem.

"You can get money, but you have to report who you gave the money to. At that point, Ryo's name would come up... He is registered with the adventurers' guild in the City of Run, but he’s not a citizen of the Naitorei Kingdom. With his talent, regardless of what the king thinks, others would try to bring him into the kingdom."
