Today (July 21), I am posting the second chapter.
When it comes to representing the Naitorei Kingdom, the mage would be Ilalion Baraha.
In the kingdom, once one attains the position of 'court mage', they are assured a safe and secure life.
This position can only be held by those with exceptional skills in the use of magic.
They are the elite of the elite, and the court mage serves as the mage's imperial guards.
At the top of this hierarchy is Ilalion Baraha, the 'head' court mage.
For the past thirty years, that position has remained unshaken.
However, during the turmoil in the royal capital, Ilalion, the representative mage of the kingdom, was away from the royal capital.
He had traveled a little to the east, following a small lead about a certain individual.
It goes without saying that he was shocked upon returning to see the transformed state of the royal capital.
He headed straight to the royal palace, and after attending several meetings and discussions, he returned to the 'Kingdom Magic Research Institute', only to find that it was already dark outside.
The top floor is his office.
Voices could be heard echoing down the hallway from the office.
"Speaking of which, Abel and the others had come."
Thinking that, he opened the door and took a step inside, freezing in place.
There were more than ten people present.
If Abel and the others weren’t there, it would have been unprecedented to have such a large number of people in the normally empty office.
"Ah, Master, welcome back."
The first to greet him was Lin, the wind attribute mage who was Ilalion's disciple.
"Ah, um."
Still in shock, Ilalion could only respond with that.
"Hey old man, Roman and the others said they have nowhere to stay, so they came here."
Abel reported to Ilalion while gesturing with his chin towards Roman and the others.
"And so... who might this Lord Roman be?"
"He's Hero Roman and his party."
"...Huh?"
Abel's answer was indeed factual, but Ilalion could not comprehend it at that moment.
If a hero and his party were in his home after a long absence... it would be impossible for anyone to understand.
"Nice to meet you. I am Roman, the hero from the Western Nations. I am truly honored and grateful to be allowed to stay at the research institute of the kingdom's representative mage, Ilalion-sama."
"Uh, um. Please make yourself at home."
The hero, Roman, was a young man who appeared to be very earnest, and he greeted Ilalion politely.
Ilalion was not so ruthless as to kick out such a young man.
Thus, the Hero Party secured their lodging in the royal capital.
Starting tomorrow (July 22), the chapter will be titled 'Interlude: The Way Back to Run' (planned for five chapters).
It will be a short journey of two with Ryo and Abel.
