His Majesty, Jarpa, and Murcia stayed overnight in Seato Village. After touring the star-shaped fortress, ballista, and the Dwarf’s forge, they held a meeting about the defense and invasion plans against Yelinetta.
Apparently, Scudetto and other territories have each sent knights and mercenaries for defense. The plan is to gather elite forces from each knight order to launch a surprise attack on Yelinetta.
Normally, it would take at least one or two months to prepare for war—stockpiling provisions and mobilizing troops. Actually reaching the enemy’s land and starting the battle could easily take three months.
However, His Majesty is likely aiming to invade Yelinetta’s territory within a month. The fact that there are no signs he intends to stay in my domain for long is proof of this.
“Count Venturi has arrived! Also, behind him, what appears to be the House of Count Ferdinand’s knight order is heading this way!”
“Understood.”
“Viscount Panamera has arrived! Also, many flags of various noble houses!”
“Understood.”
While holding the meeting with His Majesty and Jarpa, other knight orders kept arriving one after another. Before I knew it, over 30,000 troops were waiting outside Seato Village.
“Long time no see, boy!”
“Long time no see, Mr. Panamera.”
As soon as we met, Panamera ruffled my hair vigorously in greeting. It was a bit embarrassing, but since he meant no harm, I returned the greeting sincerely.
“That large bathhouse of yours was impressive! You even prepared plenty of provisions! Thanks to that, it looks like we’ll have a luxurious base life!”
Panamera laughed heartily, puffing out his chest to show off his dynamite body. What a fearsome weapon to possess.
“The Dwarf’s forge has been completed too. Please go see it later.”
“W-What…! No, that’s something I must see right now…”
As soon as they heard the name “Dwarf,” the group got excited. But His Majesty, who had come up behind me, stopped them.
“You all know as well as I do that avenging Yelinetta Kingdom comes first.”
The moment His Majesty spoke, Panamera and the other nobles and knights knelt on the spot.
“Your Majesty, I wasn’t aware you had already arrived.”
“That’s fine. I happened to have business here. I just arrived early by chance.”
When His Majesty said that, everyone raised their heads to look at him. Nodding at the gathering gazes, His Majesty folded his arms and began speaking.
“We will hold a military council! This retaliatory battle requires speed! Sorry for the sudden summons, but all commanders of the knight orders must come to Seato Village immediately!”
“Yes!”
Following His Majesty’s order, Panamera and others quickly entered Seato Village accompanied by the commanders and deputy commanders of each knight order. Except for Panamera, the other nobles walked around the village showing keen interest.
“Boy, where is the Dwarf’s forge?”
Panamera came closer and whispered, clearly curious. I silently pointed to the smoke rising deep within the village, and he looked there with sparkling eyes.
“Could you show me a sword forged by the Dwarfs later?”
“Understood.”
While we whispered this conversation, His Majesty, Jarpa, and Venturi, who were walking ahead, glanced back silently. I felt like a student caught in mischief. With war approaching, everyone should be tense, but the people summoned to this strategy meeting seemed as usual.
Only Count Ferdinand was nervously stealing glances at me. He seemed to want to say something but didn’t speak. Could this be unrequited love? Was he looking at me hoping his feelings would reach me?
Before I could wonder more, we arrived at the lord’s manor. I led everyone inside and offered the hall as the meeting room.
“Would you like some tea?”
“Yes. Tea and pancakes, please.”
“Understood.”
Til, putting on a somewhat coy demeanor, took the order with a cool beauty vibe.
