I made a slightly overly decorated iron sword and wooden sword, and surprisingly, the reaction was good.
Well, if judged in a TV sense, staring blankly and freezing might not be good. However, realistically, it’s probably the greatest astonishment ever.
Especially, Apollo’s freeze time was long. The one who regained composure the fastest was Diane.
“P-please wait a moment. What was that just now...? Could it be due to production-type magic?”
“Yes, that’s right. I made many things inside this town.”
While answering, I proceeded to make a spear and shield. Then, the three of them opened their eyes wide in astonishment. Well, it must have taken courage to ask a noble child about magical aptitude.
“Shall we make a ballista outside as well? Kamushin, can you call a few people to help?”
“Yes!”
Kamushin gave a very good response and ran off. For some reason, he looked unusually happy. I wonder if something good happened.
While thinking such things, Apollo grabbed the freshly made sword with trembling hands and uttered a strange “hyu” sound.
“...T-this sword’s performance is uncertain as a weapon, but even as an art piece, it’s quite fine. I never imagined such armor and weapons could be made in an instant...”
As I watched Apollo muttering in astonishment, Til mischievously held something in hand.
Is that the skin of a carapace sub-dragon?
“Please look at this.”
“...Hmm? Is that the skin of a carapace sub-dragon? What are you going to do with it... Cut it!? It cut!? W-what did you just...!? L-let me have it!”
Without hiding his agitation, Apollo took the skin from Til’s trembling hands and checked its hardness and color.
Then, Apollo silently glared at the material and sliced the surface of the skin with Van-kun’s iron sword in his hand.
The skin split smoothly in two, and Apollo’s eyes widened to an incredible degree.
“O-oh? Th-this is... a Holy Sword? Could it be that the Holy Sword from the legendary myths is right before my eyes...?”
While half rolling his eyes in delirium, Apollo muttered nonsense. Diane glanced at the spear I made.
“...Even we at the mary trading company have never seen such a sharp blade. However, I never expected a commerce guild investigator to be so disturbed... Without a doubt, Lord Van’s armor and weapons are the finest. If made from Mithril or Orichalcum, they’d be national treasures...”
“Wow, national treasure... His Majesty said something like that too.”
I said while taking out my trusty Orichalcum dagger. The moment they saw it, the two from mary trading company blinked. Rosalie was speechless and frozen, but Diane covered her head with one hand and looked up.
“...Lord Van, I think it’s better not to show that so casually. That item alone could lead to war.”
Diane said this with a tired expression. I made a dissatisfied face.
“But it cuts the best...”
“...You’re using it, then...”
Diane slumped her shoulders in defeat.
While having this conversation, Kamushin returned with members of the knight order. Knights wearing wooden block armor entered the warehouse in a line.
“I’ve brought some people!”
“Thank you, Kamushin. Now then, could everyone help carry the wooden blocks outside?”
“Yes!”
When I asked, Kamushin and the others quickly started carrying the wooden blocks outside the warehouse.
Calling out to the still confused Apollo and the others, I moved outside.
Thanks to Kamushin handing over the wooden blocks at just the right timing, the ballista was completed in just two or three minutes. We were already used to it.
Since the ballista was made quickly, I turned back to check the reactions of the three.
They were gazing at the ballista with distant eyes. Their faces were expressionless as if all emotions had disappeared.
