Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 79: Untitled đź“–

“Brother Li, look quickly, there’s a light ahead!” The first person to speak whispered to Li Quan'an.

Li Quan'an looked in the direction his subordinate pointed, seeing a faint light that flickered like a small flame, yet it undeniably existed.

“Damn, this is ridiculous. The Chaihe Town is filled with zombies; how can there still be lights?” Li Quan'an muttered under his breath. However, the small flicker of light ahead was undoubtedly a beacon of hope for him and his group.

Taking a deep breath, Li Quan'an said directly, “Let’s go check it out.”

Suppressing his anxiety, Li Quan'an led his subordinates, crouching and cautiously making their way toward the source of the light.

As they approached, they discovered that the scattered lights were quite intriguing.

Aside from a few limited spots where this tiny bit of light could be found, other directions were completely obscured by buildings, making it impossible to notice this light.

If Li Quan'an and the others hadn’t remembered the location of the light source, they would never have found this place.

It was a low residential building, with a dilapidated exterior, mottled walls, and a dark corridor that sent chills down Li Quan'an’s spine.

The light was emitted from a spotlight flashlight tied to the third-floor window.

“Should we go in and take a look?” Li Quan'an cautiously discussed with the two remaining subordinates.

“Let’s go. Staying outside is a sure death,” one of them replied.

Although they hadn’t encountered any zombies in Chaihe Town, they certainly wouldn’t naively believe that no zombies existed.

Having made up his mind, just as Li Quan'an was about to lead them into the building, a sound of footsteps echoed from the corridor. The three instantly became wary.

“Pat, pat.”

As the sound drew nearer, Li Quan'an felt reassured because the rhythm was distinctly human footsteps.

And humans were definitely better than monsters.

This was Li Quan'an’s current thought...

As the footsteps got closer, a pale-faced young man in a police uniform descended the stairs and immediately spotted Li Quan'an and the others standing in front of the building.

“Living people?” The young man raised an eyebrow and spoke.

His voice was slightly hoarse, like someone who hadn’t had water for several days.

“Yes, living people,” Li Quan'an replied.

Seeing this person made Li Quan'an feel uneasy, as if he was facing something strange rather than a human.

“Nowhere to go?” The young man in the police uniform nodded at Li Quan'an and waved his hand. “Follow me.”

With that, he turned and walked into the dark corridor.

“What should we do?” Li Quan'an's subordinate was unsure.

Li Quan'an gritted his teeth and said, “What else can we do? Let’s follow him.”

Saying this, he was the first to step into the staircase.

As Li Quan'an and his group entered the corridor one after another, the young man leading the way noticed the footsteps behind him and a subtle smile appeared on his lips.

“More food is coming!!”

...

The sky cleared.

Wen Yu had already awakened.

However, the sunlight streaming through the windblown walls was so bright that he couldn’t open his eyes.

“One-eyed, one-eyed.”

As Wen Yu called out, the one-eyed creature responded with a couple of barks.

“Come over here.”

“Woof? Boss, what do you want to do?”

The one-eyed creature had questions but still obediently stood beside Wen Yu.

Once the blinding sunlight was completely blocked by the one-eyed creature’s large body, Wen Yu stretched lazily, patted the creature's somewhat deflated belly, and sighed.

“Being big does have its advantages!”

The one-eyed creature immediately felt a wave of frustration; here it was, a powerful soul pet, yet its master not only didn’t feed it but also made it act as a guard dog, and even had to serve as a curtain during the day.

The one-eyed creature didn’t even have the energy to complain.

“By the way, where's Sun Ruixing?”

Noticing that Sun Ruixing was no longer under the bed, Wen Yu asked the one-eyed creature.
