Wen Yu had completely gone mad.
He felt increasingly grateful to the heavens for not treating him poorly. First, he became a soul master, then he earned points in the police station, and now he was here picking up corpses.
In this life, he must properly honor all the gods and Buddhas.
Looking at the dwindling number of zombies, Wen Yu even ran to places Simba had never been to and went on a killing spree.
It wasn't until a first-level zombie clawed his arm that Wen Yu realized he had finished picking up all the corpses on the ground.
Reluctantly turning back to look at the now empty area behind him, Wen Yu suddenly felt that Simba didn't seem that scary after all.
"What a good lion! So nice, so big, so cute!"
Wen Yu checked his points, which had already reached 1865, and wiped his drool vigorously.
While Wen Yu was busy praising Simba, a bright silver light suddenly appeared in the distance.
Then Wen Yu saw a giant whirlpool; even standing outside the park, he could clearly see a third of the whirlpool at the top.
"The treasure land has opened? This, this awesome lion Simba probably won't come back, right?"
As if in self-hypnosis, Wen Yu threw aside his earlier caution and lost his mind over the huge reward that awaited him.
"I'll just take a look, just one look." Greed took over Wen Yu, and he quickly ran toward the place where the treasure land had opened.
……
In the distance, at the place where the silver light shone.
Guan Tao and the others stared blankly at the suddenly appearing giant whirlpool.
"This is it, this is it, but it’s much bigger!"
Guan Tao scrutinized the silver whirlpool before him.
"But, Xiao Ping, how did you do it?"
"It’s nothing really, I just walked to this spot and the pointer suddenly exploded. The pointer should be some kind of key."
Looking at Wan Ping's empty hands, the four felt like the entire world had become unfamiliar.
"This is too fantastical."
Wan Ping ignored his teammates' complaints and continued to study the silver whirlpool closely.
"It seems Brother Tao wasn’t lying, but what exactly is this thing?"
"Who cares what it is? Let’s just go in and find out, right?" Guan Tao wasn’t concerned with the details; he directly reached for the entrance of the treasure land.
Then, under the astonished gazes of the other three, he was immediately sucked into the treasure land.
The three exchanged glances. "Did this living person just disappear?"
"We have no choice. Brother Tao has gone in, so we have to go too." Wan Ping said directly to the other two, and he moved toward the treasure land entrance.
Wan An and Lin Li felt helpless and followed Wan Ping into the treasure land in succession.
……
Not long after, Wen Yu rushed over, looking at the giant whirlpool before him.
"It should be a large treasure land, just not sure what kind. Going into a treasure mountain and coming back empty-handed—could I, Wen Yu, do such a thing? Absolutely not."
Clearly, Wen Yu had once again chosen to selectively forget his previous words.
……
With only a few intruders entering the treasure land, the entire Riverside Park regained its tranquility.
The vast and empty park once again showed no signs of life.
At the park's main entrance, under the moonlight, a figure elongated as Wen Yu walked along the path he had taken to pick up corpses.
A huge figure strolled among the scattered corpses and blood, slowly appearing at the entrance of the park.
It was a large gray dog.
Standing as tall as a person, its mottled gray fur covered a strong body, with four massive paws and sharp nails gleaming coldly. In its bloodied mouth, it held half a mutated cat's body. Its remaining amber eye kept scanning the surroundings.
If Wen Yu saw this large dog, he would definitely give a thumbs up to his reasoning.
The one-eyed beast was searching for him.
This creature, having healed its wounds, had followed Wen Yu's scent all the way here.
As it approached the treasure land that Wen Yu had entered, its scent abruptly stopped.
Although the entire park was filled with a sense of oppression, panic, and even death, the keen sense of smell told the one-eyed beast that the terrifying presence had left some time ago.
