“Better method?” The two kings did not understand what it meant, so they inquired.
Ye Zhongming and the two kings arrived at the command center of the Royal City, where a massive map was displayed. This map was previously created through cooperation between the posthumous children and the Cloud Summit People, utilizing the Jingjue Floating Sphere and other equipment.
It might not be entirely accurate, but it was sufficient for strategic analysis.
“According to yesterday's reports, here, here, and here, the army of the Temple of Dawn has appeared. Based on previous intelligence, their overall front has advanced to this line, and it will take them about two to three days.”
Ye Zhongming pointed at several locations on the map as he analyzed. Although he did not often come to the Blue Secret Realm, he placed great importance on the information from this area.
The Temple of Dawn was methodically advancing, forcing the posthumous children to retreat in disarray. However, they also had a plan. From the daily intelligence, Ye Zhongming analyzed their patterns of engagement.
He noticed that whenever the Temple of Dawn attacked the area inhabited by the posthumous children, the timing of the battles ended differently.
Based on their structure, Ye Zhongming speculated that this was related to the strength of the various teams and the weaknesses of the posthumous child warriors they faced.
This resulted in the Temple of Dawn's troops advancing towards the Royal City in a staggered manner.
Although this situation was not very obvious, the distance between them would be neutralized within two to three days, but Ye Zhongming still saw an opportunity in it.
“Boosting morale just by bringing in reinforcements may not have lasting effects. Instead of just consuming the Temple of Dawn's armies, I believe this method will better meet your needs.”
Hongxiang and Niao exchanged glances, both showing a hint of surprise.
They had considered retaliating against the Temple of Dawn, but the accumulated fear over the years and the death of the king who ventured out made them lose their courage for field battles.
Even the previous experience where Ye Zhongming led a team to annihilate a squad couldn't shake off the gloom in their hearts.
Now, hearing that Ye Zhongming was proposing a proactive attack, the two kings hesitated.
Niao looked at the map and said, “The information we receive daily cannot strictly be considered the latest, as it comes from the mouths of retreating tribesmen. Our scouts do not dare to get too close.”
The other two nodded; this was the truth.
“So we can't accurately grasp their movements. I think Zhongming means to launch a surprise attack on one of their teams. However, the lag in information may lead us to failure, or worse, defeat.”
Although the posthumous children's king appeared overly wary of the Temple of Dawn in Ye Zhongming's eyes, they were ultimately seasoned warriors who considered all factors affecting battle decisions carefully. Their approach, while conservative, was quite mature.
“Moreover, even if our intelligence is accurate, should one of their teams come under attack, how long will it take for other teams from the temple to come to their aid? If they arrive very quickly and we haven't annihilated our target, then we would be the ones surrounded.”
This was indeed a problem. Although the offensive of the Temple of Dawn would create a sense of confusion, no one knew how quickly they could close that distance. They also had an air force and cavalry, both of which were fast units capable of reaching the battlefield in a very short time.
This meant that if the Cloud Summit and the posthumous children wanted to exploit the time difference to take out a Temple of Dawn army, they needed to finish the battle in an even shorter time.
Faced with the formidable forces of the Temple of Dawn, the posthumous children lacked confidence and certainty.
Ye Zhongming acknowledged that Niao's comments were valid. He had previously underestimated the situation.
