"Making Up for Yesterday"
A team of over sixty thousand members was advancing through the wilderness, with more than twenty thousand scattered in a radius of several kilometers, responsible for guard duties and dealing with any encountered mutated life forms.
This team had set out from Peak Pass to exterminate the iron giants, and after the battle, they reported over ten thousand casualties.
This was not a small number; more than ten thousand evolvers had perished under the area attacks of the iron giants, the amount of potions and effort invested in their growth was incalculable.
Although the casualty numbers averaged just over a thousand for each faction, it's important to note that this figure represented a significant portion of their respective strengths.
It could be said that this was a crippling and failed hunt.
The only ones who might have gained anything were probably Cloud Summit Villa and Ye Zhongming.
The massive Bloodwood being carried by several people was a sight that warmed the heart.
Particularly, Jas, who was beaten black and blue, glared at the members of Cloud Summit Villa with hatred. Yet, when his gaze skimmed over the masked woman, a complex expression tinged with fear emerged.
Ye Zhongming's earlier suggestion about sparring had been impossible to refuse, but the outcome left many still in shock.
Xia Bai had mercilessly beaten Jas!
Initially, Xia Bai had only made one move during the battle, and everyone had paid little attention to this seven-star evolver, her presence was indeed somewhat lacking.
But once she started fighting Jas, everyone realized the terror of this woman.
While everyone respected the seven-star evolvers, it had not reached the level of fear; after all, they belonged to the same faction. However, once Xia Bai made her move, everyone felt a cold sweat breaking out on their backs.
Many now believed that a seven-star evolver wasn’t terrifying, but a mad seven-star evolver was the most terrifying.
The woman named Xia Bai from Cloud Summit was like this.
Everyone understood why the boss of Cloud Summit Villa suggested sparring; it was merely to vent his anger from Jas's earlier monster theft. But honestly, few people had high hopes for Xia Bai; after all, Jas was renowned in the resistance zone. With a four-winged refined gold demon bloodline, he was exceptionally strong, almost synonymous with the word invincible.
However, in the actual fight, it turned out to be one-sided.
Later, many people analyzed Jas's numerous reasons for defeat, such as his bloodline being in cooldown, unable to face the battle at his strongest, having just been seriously injured by the iron giants rendering him unable to exert his power, his Rong Clan Holy Armor being cracked and in repair making it unusable, and needing something from Cloud Summit, thus unable to fight at full strength, among other constraints.
But no one denied Xia Bai's strength and her reckless fighting style, which was truly terrifying. No matter what you did, she only cared about attacking, attacking, and attacking, without any defense and not afraid of getting hurt, with everything aimed at killing the target.
Jas was too constrained on this side, naturally unable to fight back with all his might. After just a few minutes, he was knocked down by Xia Bai and then subjected to a street-fight-like beating.
Many people were seeing a seven-star evolver curled up on the ground holding their head for the first time, and it would probably be the only time in their lives.
Regarding this 'unjust victory,' Ye Zhongming didn’t care at all. He had let Xia Bai challenge Jas just to vent his anger, who cared about any reservations? Moreover, if there were truly no reservations, Ye Zhongming might not even have let Xia Bai take action; it would have been better for everyone to gang up on him.
So the result was Jas took a loss, and Cloud Summit vented their frustrations.
Perhaps only these members of Cloud Summit understood that if it weren't for Jas's identity being of great importance to the resistance zone, their boss might have simply let Xia Bai take him down.
