Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 600: Team in the Snow ❄️

Published: February 8, 2025

Although there were several large bonfires burning in the mountain's belly, the temperature was not high, and the ground was cold and hard. Miya's feet stepped on it, causing her body to rapidly grow cold.

However, she was completely unaware of this; her beautiful big eyes were looking around as if waiting for the person she dreamed of to suddenly appear before her.

She could indeed feel that familiar aura surrounding her, warm and comforting, and it even seemed like she could hear a voice that captivated her.

She spun around continuously, hoping to catch a glimpse of the shadow she longed for, but unfortunately, the surroundings were still the same, a blend of noise and tranquility, and nothing more.

Disappointed, Miya realized it couldn’t be the man she missed returning; otherwise, the mountain’s belly wouldn’t be so calm.

But what was that fluttering feeling in her heart just now?

“Miya, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”

A somewhat strong aunt, carrying a bundle of unprocessed beast hide, passed by and noticed Miya's distracted state, asking with concern.

Miya was a female shaman of the tribe. Although she had already partnered with the man who had left, losing the most valuable initial blood of a female shaman, because that man was of noble status, Miya's position was not lowered; instead, she was increasingly respected, especially by the two individuals who came from the same place as her man. Those living dead had directly turned into Miya's guard.

“It’s nothing, you go ahead and be busy,” Miya forced a smile. After watching the aunt walk away, she reluctantly looked around again and slowly walked back to the tent.

Ye Zhongming's soul was nearby, observing everything, and he could see every subtle expression on Miya's face clearly. His fondness for her grew with this nearly close observation.

Unfortunately, he couldn't stay there; his soul returned to the skies above and swiftly moved in a certain direction.

The cold season of the Blue Secret Realm was enveloped in white, and the shadows of posthumous children were nowhere to be seen. However, some cold-resistant monsters appeared from time to time; these monsters were mostly very powerful. Ye Zhongming had seen them attacking the mountain's belly where the posthumous children resided multiple times, resulting mostly in defeats for the posthumous children.

Ye Zhongming's soul continued to move forward, the endless white making him feel somewhat bored. He didn’t know how long this state would last. Originally happy because fewer dark beings were wrapped around him, his mood had cooled down, leaving him to drift almost numbly in the sky of the secret realm.

Until...

Ye Zhongming spotted a team moving through the snow and ice!

Although he was not a native of the Blue Secret Realm, he understood the posthumous children's fear of the cold season. The outside temperature was too low, forcing the posthumous children to hide in the mountain's belly to endure the long winter. No one would venture outside during the peak of the cold season, as it would truly lead to death.

But what was this team about? Did they not fear the cold?

As he swept past them from above, Ye Zhongming found that most of the posthumous children rode on monsters covered in long fur. The riders sank halfway into the thick, fluffy fur, solving most of their warmth issues.

On their upper bodies, they wore thick leather coats, and round leather hats covered their heads, leaving only their eyes exposed.

Each person carried a woven basket on their back, which emitted a dim red light, likely meant for warmth.

Above the entire team, a hairless giant bird-like monster circled, seemingly unbothered by the cold. Its level seven status made it rarely encounter opponents in the sky.

This level seven monster bird was large enough to shield the entire team from falling snow and the icy cold wind, keeping the team under protection.

Just then, Ye Zhongming was surprised to hear that there was a posthumous child team with over five thousand members moving during the cold season!
