CHAPTER TEXT:
"Hey, did you just donate again? Thank you, thank you~~"
The corpse ape isn't a monster; it's a zombie.
A Grade 3 Zombie!
Ye Zhongming never expected that in just one day and one night since the apocalypse began, there would already be a Grade 3 zombie in existence.
Isn't this evolution speed a bit outrageous?
Zombies evolve differently from humans. Humans rely on Evolution Potions, and to obtain these potions, one must turn the corresponding mechanism. It can be said that human evolution follows a step-by-step process.
In contrast, the evolution of zombies and other life forms is completely natural; once the energy within their bodies accumulates to a certain degree, a qualitative change occurs—this is evolution.
Theoretically, these non-human life forms can evolve to the highest level in a short period.
However, that is just theory; in reality, it is nearly impossible.
For example, evolving from an ordinary zombie to a Grade 1 Zombie may only require consuming one person's flesh and brain. But to evolve to Grade 2, it might need ten. And to evolve from Grade 2 to Grade 3, it could require a thousand!
This isn't simple addition or subtraction; it's an exponential increase.
At the beginning, evolution might be quite easy, but as levels increase, evolution becomes more difficult and slower.
In the early days of the apocalypse, these non-human life forms already had a significant advantage in evolution speed compared to humans.
But Ye Zhongming never anticipated that in just one day, a zombie would evolve to Grade 3!
Grade 3!
In his past life, he heard that the fastest record for a human to evolve to Grade 3 was about three weeks, right?
And this corpse ape? It only took one day!
Damn it!
Initially, the strength of the desolate land monster that emerged from the black hole had already weighed heavily on Ye Zhongming's heart, and now the appearance of the corpse ape filled him with a strong sense of dread.
The terrifying monster he had seen in his previous life hadn't appeared yet, and now there was an additional Grade 3 zombie?!
And it was one of the more powerful types among mutated zombies—the corpse ape!
This kind of zombie is strong and powerful, with thick skin and flesh, and even its eyelids possess excellent defensive capabilities.
Thinking about it, how could a five-meter tall monster, whose vital point is only the head, be attacked by humans who are generally under two meters tall?
Even after humans had increased their evolution levels, dealing with the corpse ape would still be a headache.
As if to validate Ye Zhongming's concerns, the corpse ape raised the steel pillar in its hand and smashed it into a nearby building, causing the ten-story tower to shake violently. Horrified screams echoed, as the corpse ape's other hand reached through a window and grabbed a struggling man inside.
This man's stature wasn't small; he should have been over 1.75 meters tall and weighed more than 80 kilograms.
Yet in the hands of the corpse ape, he showed no signs of resistance. The Grade 3 zombie merely squeezed lightly, and a large amount of blood flowed from its fingers, dripping onto the heads of the ordinary zombies below, making these creatures even more frenzied.
The corpse ape shoved the man’s body into its mouth, and with a light bite, it decapitated him. As it opened and closed its massive jaws, a viscous liquid of indeterminate color dribbled from the corners of its mouth, running down its chin and making it appear even more brutal and disgusting.
But that wasn't the end. Perhaps spurred by the fresh thrill of human flesh, the corpse ape thrust the steel pillar into the ground and began to knead the man’s lifeless body with its hands. In just a few moments, the body was mangled into a meatball, which the corpse ape then devoured.
Even someone like Ye Zhongming, who had lived through the apocalypse, felt numb and nauseous at the sight. For many other survivors witnessing this scene, numerous people broke down completely. The army might have held up somewhat better, but many small groups formed by ordinary people scattered in panic.
