"Thank you for the 588, Qianmu, and thanks to the other brothers and sisters, as well as the book friends who supported the roulette. Thank you all."
The Wenrose Mountain Range is a gathering place for posthumous children, renowned for its bare yet majestic peaks, which provide numerous excellent camping options for the posthumous children. Consequently, many tribes have settled here, and over time, it has become one of the most famous camps for posthumous children.
The cold season has quietly arrived. In the initial days, the temperature isn't too low, and the tribes of posthumous children in the Wenrose Mountain Range are seizing the last opportunity to hunt, storing as much food as possible for the cold season.
The peaks and mountains in the area form a circular shape, with only a few narrow mountain passes for entry and exit, providing a relatively easy defensive terrain for the posthumous children. These tribes have united to guard these passages, and there hasn’t been an attack by surface monsters in a long time, allowing the Wenrose Mountain Range’s posthumous children to at least sleep soundly compared to others.
However, the outside world remains dangerous. Even though dozens of tribes gather here, comprising tens of thousands of posthumous children, death still lingers around every posthumous child when they venture out to hunt. At any moment, the black scythe of death could mercilessly take a life.
Each return from a hunt not only signifies a harvest but also, for some posthumous children, it means a permanent farewell.
Head Portrait Pass.
This is one of the exits of the Wenrose Mountain Range, named "Head Portrait Pass" because a certain peak resembles a human head.
Today, the large Yingchi tribe is jointly responsible for guarding with two medium tribes and over a dozen small tribes. This has become a routine that continues every day in the days of falling sand, so everyone has grown accustomed to it.
In the distance, a team of over fifty people is approaching. An elder from the Yingchi tribe climbed up to take a look and confirmed it was a small tribe within the Wenrose Mountain Range called the Sparrow North Tribe. After thinking for a while, the elder finally remembered their name. Every member of this tribe is accustomed to inserting a feather from a flying monster into the collar of their beast skin clothing, and the tribe’s warriors are somewhat renowned for their archery skills throughout the mountains.
As they got closer, the massive stone gate was raised, and the warriors of the Sparrow North Tribe filed in, each carrying prey on their backs. Although the sizes varied, the total amount was enough to astonish onlookers given their number.
"Old Mei Cuo, the almighty god must be showing favor! How did you collect so much today?" A gate guard from a small tribe recognized these Sparrow North warriors. Seeing the situation, he greeted them, and other guards at the Head Portrait Pass turned their attention as well. The person in charge here, an elder from the large tribe, walked over to the Sparrow North Tribe warriors and took a closer look at their prey.
A middle-aged posthumous child nodded in greeting to the elder before answering the familiar person.
"Hey, not only did we have a great harvest, but we also didn’t lose a single warrior!"
This statement immediately drew low exclamations of surprise from the guards.
The frenzy of the cold season encompasses not just posthumous children, but also various monsters. Except for a few, monsters also need to survive the winter; they must stockpile food or energy.
In either case, they will hunt fiercely. When encountering monsters, they will hunt them down; when facing humans, they will pursue humans, and for monsters, humans are even more delicious.
This makes the approaching cold season and the days of falling sand exceptionally dangerous within the Blue Secret Realm. Almost every time a hunting team from a tribe sets out, some lives are lost. Sometimes, when luck is particularly poor, entire teams of warriors may not return.
