Chapter Title: "The Two-in-One Chapter"
Gray Mountain had long forgotten how many days of falling sand had passed without witnessing such a gathering of food. In his memory, it was during his childhood, before the Gray Mountain Tribe experienced a battle that almost led to their extinction, that so much food had appeared together.
Although a strong, almost overwhelming, smell of blood lingered over the food now, the posthumous children had long since developed the skill of imagining a feast from what was in front of them. They could already picture these cold monster carcasses transformed into golden roasted meat.
The leaders who came out with the chief to welcome the Afo Tribe were all prominent figures within the tribe, yet they were all left dazed by the dazzling array of food before them.
Suddenly, the ground trembled, waking the Gray Mountain Tribe from the frequent earthquakes. Gray Mountain chuckled awkwardly and quickly instructed his people to tidy up the area and let the Afo Tribe enter the camp.
After a flurry of activity, the two tribes finally sat together. The Afo Tribe generously provided some food for the Gray Mountain Tribe to eat until they were half full.
As for some of the chief-level figures in the tribe, they naturally enjoyed even tastier roasted meat in Gray Mountain's tent.
"Black Seed Deer meat!"
As the host, Gray Mountain, the chief, felt a bit embarrassed and tried to ease the awkwardness with some conversation. However, when he saw the roasted meat that was brought out, he was taken aback.
Black Seed Deer? Didn't the Golden Hunting Team report seeing someone hunting Black Seed Deer? Did the Afo Tribe encounter them on the way here? Did they buy this food from that large tribe?
Due to some deeply ingrained thoughts, Gray Mountain didn't consider other possibilities at all.
Hearing Gray Mountain's doubt, Afo smiled, and this smile struck Gray Mountain as somewhat proud. Indeed, what the elderly man said next made Gray Mountain unable to sit still.
"Why wouldn't it be from our own hunt? Black Seed Deer… isn't exactly something special."
Ye Zhongming rolled his eyes at the side. It turned out that posthumous children shared the same tendency to show off as Earthlings.
"Impossible!"
Many core members of the Gray Mountain Tribe expressed their disbelief in unison.
Well, you guys are really straightforward. Ye Zhongming took a piece of Black Seed Deer meat and put it in his mouth; this was the most delicious food he had tasted since entering the secret realm.
"There’s nothing impossible. I recently learned a term: a vision for development. Gray Mountain, you need to look at problems with that perspective. The Afo Tribe is no longer the Afo Tribe of the past."
Afo stood up, immediately attracting everyone's attention. The elder walked to the center of the tent and pointed outside to the posthumous children gathered in a circle, asking, "Do you know who they are?"
Many people from the Gray Mountain Tribe looked over, their faces showing confusion.
"Let me show you something, young brother Gray Mountain."
Afo waved his hand, and one of the tribe members brought over a beast skin package, placing it on Gray Mountain's wooden table, and then pulled down the tent curtain.
Gray Mountain opened it, instinctively leaning back, and after a careful look, he could no longer conceal his shock.
This was a clan token.
Every posthumous child tribe had a clan token representing their heritage, a sign of authority for each chief, and a symbol of power for the entire tribe.
But if one tribe possessed another tribe's clan token, there could only be one possibility: they had either annihilated or absorbed the other.
Had the Afo Tribe destroyed a posthumous child tribe? And it was... the Dabu Tribe?!
Strictly speaking, whether it was the Afo Tribe or the Gray Mountain Tribe, both belonged to the sphere of influence of the Dabu Tribe. During external warfare, they had to obey the orders of that tribe.
Yet now, the clan token of this medium-sized tribe was right in front of him.
