Chapter 2709: One Person, One Dragon, One Bow 🏹

The power of rules may sound simple, but when it comes to truly understanding it, one finds it to be quite elusive. It seems as though one knows a lot, yet upon closer reflection, it feels like one knows nothing at all.

Moreover, there are countless rules in this universe, all of which have an impact on life from the moment it is born. It can be said that every life exists within various rules.

Thus, life learns from a young age what rules are, and it follows, studies, and utilizes these rules.

However, mastering these rules is a matter of a different level.

Many times, those who control the rules are referred to as gods. Perhaps if the number of peak experts were not so rare, and not limited to a handful, then the existence at this stage could truly be described as 'divine.'

When Ye Zhongming awakened, he remained still, even closing his eyes again after they had opened.

He was savoring the rules he had controlled in his previous dream.

But he realized he had forgotten how to shatter a planet with a single punch, forgotten how to destroy a galaxy in one breath.

What he could recall were only the landscapes he had seen and the repetitions of those moments.

But that was enough.

“Awake?”

When Ye Zhongming opened his eyes again, he found only the Old Dean beside him.

Ye Zhongming nodded and extended his left hand to give it a shake.

The Old Dean smiled and waited a moment before saying, “According to the rules of Dreamwalkers, your lengthy awakening signifies that your ability to control rules is quite weak. Even if you successfully awakened, proving that you have grasped the rules, it would be of a shallow level.”

“But the celestial phenomena generated during your promotion are definitely not something an ordinary peak expert can produce. That kind of power is something even I find difficult to possess. From this perspective, you are indeed outstanding, or even exceptionally gifted.”

“I was initially a bit confused about what your ultimate state is, but now…” The Old Dean said as he looked at Ye Zhongming’s left hand.

Ye Zhongming glanced at the distant Sun Devouring City, adjusted the fallen saint bow on his back, and walked over with large strides.

Sun Devouring City is located atop the No. 1 Survivor Fortress.

This is the home of the Flying Lizard Clan, and due to their living habits, although it is called a city, it is essentially a massive artificial mountain covered with numerous caves for the large lizards to inhabit. The stronger the Flying Lizard Clan members, the higher up they reside.

The position of the Flying Lizard Clan among the All Races of the Universe is somewhat ambiguous. In terms of combat power, they can be considered a super race, as their physical attributes give them a significant advantage compared to other races. In battles of equal level, very few other races can defeat them without relying on external forces.

However, in other aspects, the Flying Lizard Clan is severely lacking, and it could even be said to be a complete mess.

Their culture relies on roaring, their economy on dependence, and their politics on claws.

If their combat power were truly unparalleled in the All Races of the Universe, they could enslave other races. Yet, despite having an advantage in battles of equal level, it is not decisive. Other races have more experts in number, and in economic, cultural, and technological aspects, they completely overwhelm the Flying Lizard Clan. With good equipment and advanced technology, they can bridge the gap in racial talent and even turn the tables.

Thus, in comprehensive evaluations, the Flying Lizard Clan is merely considered a large race. Only among themselves and in some less significant official evaluations do they consider themselves a super race.

Previously, the Flying Lizard Clan attributed their awkward status to the Rebel Dragon Race, believing that their betrayal led to a decline in the overall strength of the clan and resulted in many lost techniques. It even caused a negative growth in their birth rates.
