The vast universe was once a realm of mystery and terror for humanity.
Countless people sought to understand its principles and conquer it, just as they had conquered the oceans and skies before.
However, when the apocalypse arrived, the All Races of the Universe gave humanity their answer.
Inside the Golden Holy Ship, Xia Lei was quickly and nervously operating various instruments alongside the people from Cloud Summit Villa.
Having entered the universe, their strength was far too weak, weak enough that they had no qualifications to participate in any battles.
All they could do was assist from a safe position, like they were doing now, carrying out tasks beneficial to their side.
“On Survivor One, a fleet has been dispatched, with a total of... seventeen ships, including three large transport vessels, the rest being escort ships,” a cloud summit warrior's voice echoed through the communicator.
Sitting in her chair, Xia Lei stroked her chin.
“Someone really dares to dispatch a team even when victory or defeat is unclear… Identify the fleet's affiliated power.”
Half a minute later, the same intel officer provided the answer.
“The fleet belongs to the Aregin Star Clan; they are a tribe under the Alliance Council.”
Xia Lei acknowledged the reply and then stood up, walking toward the rear lounge. As she reached a door, it opened automatically before she could knock.
“Dean, they have come out,” Xia Lei stepped inside, standing to one side, and respectfully addressed the elderly man in front of her.
The Old Dean nodded, “You all go directly to Divine Artisan City, no need to wait for me.”
Xia Lei was taken aback. Although she was not even an expert yet, and likely wouldn’t even qualify to enter the Bronze Camp of the Star-Eye Clan, she knew that even peak experts could not move freely in the universe.
Without a warship to escort him, how could the Old Dean return?
As if sensing Xia Lei’s thoughts, the Old Dean smiled and said, “I’ve been trapped in that palace for far too many years; it’s time to be free.”
After he spoke, he suddenly vanished from the cabin, and Xia Lei didn’t even notice how he left.
……………………
The shrill alarm echoed throughout the entire fleet of warships, and the noisy footsteps and confused voices made many soldiers feel tense.
Had they encountered the enemy just after setting off?
Everyone was searching for what had triggered the alarm.
Generally, the only events that could cause all warships to sound alarms, aside from malfunctions, were either the appearance of a fleet of similar scale at a close distance or a powerful attack approaching.
However, they confirmed repeatedly that no other fleets appeared nearby, and there were no attacks incoming—so what was the alarm about?
“Wait, over there… is there someone?” a guard suddenly froze the image on the monitor at a specific spot. Most of the picture was a glowing star, while the humanoid figure was right in the middle of the light.
Aside from the Slave Clan, no one believed any other life forms could do this.
Perhaps some beings from legends had this ability, but no one knew the truth of those legends.
But now…
“Zoom in, get a clearer view,” the commander tapped on the table, instructing his subordinates to confirm the situation of the humanoid figure. He couldn’t help but wonder, even if this really was a life form, how could it trigger the entire fleet's alarm?
“No need.”
An aged voice emerged, and many people looked around in confusion but found nothing. However, it was clear the commander understood, and he remained in his position, respectfully acknowledging.
Then, the soldier in charge of monitoring the humanoid life saw three black dots appear on the screen, but before he could clarify further, the commander cut off the feed.
In the universe, three tree-like beings floated in front of the fleet.
“Long time no see, Blackwood,” the humanoid life suddenly spoke, directly addressing the consciousness of the central tree-like being.
