Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2622: Huo Jie Pavilion 🚀

Published: February 13, 2025

“Once there was a sincere…”

“Stop!”

“Don’t say anymore!”

“Let’s settle it at the duel platform.”

Inside the huo jie pavilion, Captain Dominic laughed heartily.

His crew was in high spirits, which allowed them to joke so freely, and this was related to the success of this trip.

The Survivor Fortress was constantly on the move, crossing one galaxy after another, following the roulette in advance, finding one life planet after another, where they cultivated one force after another and rescued one race after another.

Of course, this was in the past.

In the current All Races of the Universe, more often than not, newly discovered life races were treated as a kind of… resource and consumable.

During the movement of the seven fortresses, most celestial bodies were actually resource planets, rich in minerals, vegetation, primitive energy, and inhabited by low-level intelligent life.

These elements were also part of the resources, and although the All Races of the Universe had changed in recent years, becoming greedy and foolish, some things still persisted due to inertia.

For example, collecting all the materials that could be found, making specimens for detailed research, in order to find anything that might affect slave races.

The hope was naturally slim, so now, this inertia had reduced to mere collection, as for research… perhaps a few super races were still continuing, but most other races had basically given up.

However, regardless, those celestial bodies with new and novel things but not abundant resources needed some people to bring those things back.

The huo jie pavilion was built for this purpose, a medium-sized scientific transport ship excelling in flight speed and defense, with almost no attacking power.

On this trip, Dominic and his crew completed specimen collection from a planet, amassing over one million new specimens and material samples, which would fetch a handsome price no matter which super race or research institution they were sold to.

Dominic was not very clear on the specifics; it depended on the final assessment by the buyer.

But upgrading the huo jie pavilion to make it run a bit faster, have a sturdier hull, and even adding two energy cannons was certainly possible.

Also, they needed to recruit another batch of crew members, preferably with more women to enhance the overall research atmosphere on board…

“Alright, guys, tell me, how long until we get home?” Dominic clapped his hands and asked the others in the control room.

He was the captain but primarily a scientist and an excellent aircraft maintenance technician. He could of course pilot and operate, but his talent was average, so he left those tasks to the skilled ones.

“Less than three hours, and we’ll be able to see the spaceport of the Survivor Fortress!”

One crew member said cheerfully.

It had been more than a year since they had been out, and everyone was feeling restless.

“By this trajectory, we should be in the territory of the Tarros Red Dwarf.”

“Yeah, not very lucky; those dwarves might not be interested in this. Perhaps we could show them some metals?”

“Doesn’t matter; if worse comes to worst, we can just take a break and then head to another place.”

Everyone chatted casually.

Now they were in an extremely safe zone, and there wouldn't be any security issues; everyone felt relaxed.

“Captain!”

The aircraft was originally on autopilot, so the pilot just needed to keep an eye on it, but suddenly, he tensed up and shouted.

The entire cabin fell silent.

“It seems… we’re being followed.”

“Impossible!” Dominic jumped up and rushed to the radar, his expression darkening immediately. However, a few seconds later, he became very confused.

“Captain~~”

His subordinate’s voice sounded distorted, which Dominic understood.

Anyone who saw a massive fleet chasing from behind would be frightened.

The radar displayed a huge fleet with over a thousand flying vehicles rushing towards them menacingly.
