“Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh!” Luri whistled casually.
In front of him were over fifteen control light barriers, and his hands darted across them, tapping at different speeds. This was his rhythm, a habit that had become ingrained over the past twenty-two years.
Luri even joked with his wife that if one day he was no longer the chief dispatcher at Dante Spaceport, he wouldn't know what else to do.
For someone like Luri, who had no talent for martial arts and had only increased his physical fitness to the ninth level, this high-paying position was something he cherished immensely.
The only downside was probably the constant business trips, which his wife often complained about. However, considering that they could reunite for two months each year at Dante Port, along with the substantial salary bonuses that accumulated in his bank account each month, her complaints were merely that—complaints, a form of life’s adjustment.
“Boss, a fight has broken out over there! Lord Jie Luo of the Tarros Red Dwarf is bombarding Cloud Summit Manor with the Concealed Light Jade Mirror, while eight energy pillars have risen inside Cloud Summit Manor, continuously resisting the attacks. It seems they can hold on for a while longer.”
A subordinate rushed into the control room, loudly reporting the latest developments of the most significant event happening right now.
Luri was in charge of the most critical control section of Dante Port, serving as the core dispatcher. During working hours, he was definitely too busy to do anything else, but what was happening now was an unprecedented major event in the history of the All Races of the Universe.
And where was Dante Spaceport? It was located on the Survivor Fortress where the Tarros Red Dwarfs resided. Having lived here for many years, Luri would not have any radical thoughts or actions against the dwarves due to the policies of his own clan, the Lena People.
He knew very well that his responsibility was to coordinate all the spacecraft coming in and out of Dante Port, ensuring that it functioned as a freeport controlled by the Lena People.
Creating value for his own clan had nothing to do with being adversarial towards the Tarros Red Dwarfs.
Thus, many people here, including himself, treated the dwarves with courtesy and even respect.
However, Luri understood that in the All Races of the Universe, things were often fickle; today one group was good, and tomorrow another group would be favored. Old loves, new flames, and returning favors—no one could predict who would be in favor.
“Hey boss, big news!” After a while, that subordinate rushed in again.
“Beiyin, the chief of the musk ke people and their top expert, has gone to the Royal City of the Hall People and publicly challenged their top expert, Lyka Fox! It’s chaotic!”
This news made Luri's hands pause momentarily; half a second later, he resumed his work at his usual pace.
Was it really that bold? The musk ke people and the Su Clan had been allied recently, right? Why would the chief of the musk ke people challenge the Hall People’s top expert?
He knew that these peak experts, especially those in significant positions, valued their lives dearly. They would not engage in combat with rivals of similar rank unless absolutely necessary, especially in a public challenge where everyone could witness the outcome.
So, was Beiyin out of his mind?
Having spent many years living in foreign territories, Luri began to suspect that things were not that simple. It definitely wouldn’t be just Beiyin itching for a fight; figures like clan chiefs had motives behind every action they took.
As Luri pondered, he continued with his work, but at one moment, he suddenly stopped.
Next to him were two assistants he had worked with for many years. Seeing Luri stop, they curiously looked over.
“Boss, what’s wrong?”
Luri frowned, resumed his work, but seriously gazed at the light barriers and said after a moment of thought, “Have you noticed that something seems off today?”
