After chatting for a while with Kani and calming the little girl's emotions, Ye Zhongming shared many funny stories about the Mechanical Genius, making her laugh heartily. Her earlier disappointment from not seeing the little boy completely disappeared, and they talked and laughed for quite some time, even looking forward to the future together.
Ye Zhongming felt that if they continued, Kani might even start discussing what to name the children she would have with the Mechanical Genius in the future.
As he walked out, the King of Cloud Summit couldn't help but feel that perhaps only someone as optimistic as Kani could endure the repeated crises of advancement. He hoped she could remain this way, all the way to the end.
Just before closing the door, Ye Zhongming took one last look at the little girl because he was unsure if this would be the last time he saw her in this life. Perhaps the next time he heard news about Kani, it would be because she hadn't overcome her bottleneck and left this world.
After leaving Kani, Ye Zhongming discussed the antidote with the Old Dean. He now had clues about one of the final materials, but he wasn't sure how long it would take to find it. Meanwhile, he was also accumulating Moon Age Gold, so he wouldn't find himself in a situation where he had the items but no money to buy them.
The Old Dean didn't mind this, telling Ye Zhongming that when the time came, he could let him know how much money was needed, and if the Library Palace couldn't provide it, then Ye Zhongming could make up the difference.
Both sides were now true allies, with Xia Bai acting as a bridge, making them less concerned about these matters.
After the Old Dean left, Ye Zhongming wandered in the Library Palace and visited a few familiar book keepers. Most of these individuals were researchers in genetic biology, and a few studied formations. Ye Zhongming engaged in discussions with them about their research achievements and checked if there were any new interesting items.
In the end, Ye Zhongming also went to see Aslan.
"You've grown stronger again," Aslan said in a slightly deep voice.
She was somewhat sensitive to energy, which could be considered a sort of talent, and it was beneficial for cultivation. The last time she saw Ye Zhongming, she didn't feel the same way she did now; this time she clearly sensed that their strengths had not only not diminished but had grown larger.
"If possible, who wouldn't want to proceed step by step?" Ye Zhongming said, pointing to the Library Palace under the sunset. "Let's take a walk."
The two strolled along a quiet path, speaking softly about various topics.
Ye Zhongming understood the role Aslan played in calming the conflicts during the previous turmoil of the Star-Eye Clan, which made him admire her. Even among the All Races of the Universe, not everyone at her age could make such decisive choices.
The essence of their conversation boiled down to two points: first, to reassure her that she should continue cultivating if she wanted to, or return to take charge of the Star-Eye Clan without any burdens; and second, that Ye Zhongming needed the power of the Star-Eye Clan and respected Aslan's choices.
Both understood the implications of the conversation. Aslan lowered her head and softly replied, which left Ye Zhongming uncertain about her true feelings.
Since Aslan didn't know about the close relationship between Ye Zhongming and the Library Palace, he didn't elaborate. After leaving some cultivation resources in the name of her clan, he departed on a flying vehicle that night.
Upon returning to Cloud Summit Manor, Ye Zhongming didn't immediately jump into work but instead examined the current situation he faced.
Overall, it was temporarily calm.
With the Su Clan and Musk Ke people holding the front, the Hall People and other hostile forces were mostly focused there. Recent conflicts had been intense, and both sides suffered losses.
After the Musk Ke people allied with the Su Clan, they could withstand attacks from the Hall Peopleโs camp as long as there were no large-scale conflicts.
