Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2570: Admit Defeat 🙇‍♂️

Published: February 13, 2025

Manick quickly backed away, creating some distance.

It wasn't that he was scared or anything, but the sudden attack had startled him.

Outside, there were two clearly peak experts from the Rebel Dragon Race, one heading toward the racial guard army and the other hovering over the Clan Authority Hall, practically right above him. The fact that the opponent could suddenly transform into a dark entity further altered his perception of the world.

In Manick's understanding, although the Rebel Dragon Race existed among the All Races of the Universe, there were definitely no peak experts among them. Moreover, he had never seen any equipment like what was before him, which could suddenly appear out of thin air and automatically wear itself. He was also unfamiliar with any battle pet like the one that had wings on its arm.

And that weapon—Manick couldn’t even discern its level! Yet he could feel a dark power emanating from it that made his heart race.

Aside from the person he recognized, he found that he didn't recognize anyone else!

No, he felt he didn't really know that person either... after all, just knowing a name doesn’t mean you truly know someone.

As a peak expert, he sensed unfamiliar auras appearing within the city of his race, perhaps not peak experts, but still very strong.

He even perceived the sudden eruption of violent energy from the north gate.

That was a sign of a large-scale battle starting, with at least thousands of participants in the conflict.

"You..."

As he opened his mouth, Manick realized his voice came out somewhat hoarse.

Just a moment ago, he had been tight-lipped, unwilling to speak to this person because he thought they were unworthy, but now he wanted to talk, thinking maybe communication was a way to solve the problem.

But Manick saw the other party shaking their head.

"Fight first, then talk."

The voice from across was somewhat distorted, but Manick could sense the determination within it.

The Abyss pointed toward Manick, then tilted downward. With a loud boom, the location it pointed to exploded, and a shockwave infused with hellfire rushed forward, shattering the exquisite jade stone floor of the hall and sending countless fragments flying.

At the same time, the dark angel's beautiful black visage opened its mouth and let out a chilling shriek. The dark mist that had been swirling from its body burst out upon its appearance, transforming the grand hall, once resplendent, into a pitch-black semi-closed space.

Manick felt dizzy for a moment, then noticed his feet were numb and his skin prickled with pain.

Indeed, none of this was serious, but having such things happen to a peak expert was absurd.

The negative status of the Invisible Sin had set in—numbness and prickling!

Manick's mental strength was not as strong as Ye Zhongming's, but as a peak expert, experiencing two forms of light negative status was quite significant.

In battle, even a slight misstep could lead to disaster, let alone in a fight of this level.

The timing of the Invisible Sin's casting was extremely clever, and the dark angel's mental shock was perfectly timed, giving Ye Zhongming the best moment to strike.

The Abyss in his hand thrust forward, the dark angel took flight, and Ye Zhongming leaped down from the air, heading straight for Manick, with the spear of the Abyss shimmering a red thread as it whipped toward the target.

At this moment, the flame shockwave hit the ground.

The attack began, coming from all directions.

Manick did not move; he knew that given his current numbness in his feet and the ongoing mental shock, it would be difficult to escape unscathed from such an assault.

So, he raised one hand to his head, swiped down, and in the air, a silver vertical Moonlight Bridge appeared, forming an arc that enveloped him from head to toe.

The hellfire crashed into the Moonlight Bridge, followed by those red threads.

The Moonlight Bridge swayed slightly but did not shatter.

In that brief moment, Manick had already recovered; although his feet remained numb and his body still ached painfully, his spirit had stabilized.
