Ye Zhongming was wearing the level 5 mechanical battle armor 'Ordinary Master Level' that had undergone modifications.

This substance was not meant for extinguishing fires; it was used to induce hallucinations. However, its main component was still water, so Ye Zhongming decided to use it.

Although the amount wasn't large, it looked to be at least several hundred pounds as it burst out, yet upon contact, the liquid evaporated before even touching the fire ring, leaving behind only some white solidified material that ignited upon contacting the fire ring, sending flames leaping high into the air.

This effect was not what Ye Zhongming had anticipated, and he quickly activated his second countermeasure.

Several gray energy markers flew out from his shoulder and activated in front of him, forming a wall of earth at his chosen location.

Ye Zhongming didn’t pay much attention to the earthen wall; instead, he initiated his third ability.

A metal tube shot out from his back, launching into the air before hovering in place, rapidly firing palm-sized metal plates toward the ground. The metal plates embedded into the ground in front of Ye Zhongming, stacking up rapidly to form an entirely metallic Scale Shield.

With a loud bang, the earthen wall was shattered by the fire ring, losing only a bit of its color but no more.

Next, the fire ring collided with the Scale Shield.

The bottom part of the shield began to melt quickly, but it didn’t immediately turn to water, preventing the fire ring from rushing over to Ye Zhongming right away.

However, the crisis wasn’t averted; although the fire ring didn’t pass through the ground, it began to rise along the Scale Shield, seemingly intent on engulfing the entire metallic shield and then attacking Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming raised his hands towards the ground, pulling up a rocky surface from the peak, placing it behind the metallic shield. He then kicked it upward, sending the Scale Shield flying.

The fire ring moved away from Ye Zhongming along with the shield.
