Library Palace.
Ye Zhongming put on his shirt and turned to look at the Old Dean.
"It should be a kind of marking."
Hearing this from the Old Dean, Ye Zhongming pouted, somewhat dissatisfied with the answer.
He of course knew it was a kind of mark, but having such an obvious mark appear on his back was increasingly terrifying the more he thought about it.
Moreover, this mark would occasionally heat up; although it didn’t hurt or itch, who knew what it was doing?
After discovering this mark upon returning to Cloud Summit Villa, Ye Zhongming immediately ventured into Dark Strip City for a stroll, then visited several other cities, and finally left the Survivor Fortress where he stayed, directly coming to the Library Palace.
He was afraid that this mark was left on him by some powerful enemy, most likely for tracking purposes, to confirm his location. There was also a slight chance it could be a negative status effect or even an attack mark.
But in any case, after experimenting, Ye Zhongming confirmed that it was something he couldn’t remove with his own abilities.
He couldn’t just leave it like that; he had to take responsibility for his own life and also for those who followed him.
Thus, he came to the Library Palace.
If Ye Zhongming felt that there was a place that could resolve his issue, it would undoubtedly be the Library Palace.
There might be methods to remove it here, and even if there weren't, if a strong enemy were to track him down, the bookkeepers or even the Old Dean could intervene, Ye Zhongming believed they wouldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
The Old Dean thought for a moment and spoke to someone briefly. A moment later, five bookkeepers walked in, asking Ye Zhongming to show them the mark on his back again.
Ye Zhongming stood there while the five older bookkeepers scrutinized the mark on his back, but they didn’t immediately reach out to touch it. After watching for a while, they donned very thin, almost transparent rubber gloves, gently pressing around the third and fourth vertebrae on either side of the mark on Ye Zhongming's spine.
On each side, there was a light red semi-arc with a round dot the size of a fingernail inside it, with the two marks facing opposite directions.
After a few presses, one of the bookkeepers placed his hand diagonally above one of the marks, and then a beam of light shone down from above, spreading over the mark and slowly moving, with brightness fluctuating, sometimes glaringly bright and sometimes faintly dim.
Once he finished checking, the other bookkeepers also used their methods and small devices to examine the mark. By the time Ye Zhongming put his clothes back on, they were already immersed in intense discussion.
Ye Zhongming listened for a bit before giving up; he thought he understood enough, yet he found that he didn't comprehend most of what they were saying. He truly didn’t realize that a suddenly appearing mark involved such complex and profound knowledge.
After more than ten minutes, one of them finally spoke to the Old Dean and Ye Zhongming, saying, "We’ve come to a consensus; we believe this mark is a form of ability, an energy mark, which poses no harm, just for location confirmation."
"However, we lean towards the idea that this mark’s positioning is vague, not continuous tracking, but rather... intermittent."
Ye Zhongming nodded, very much in agreement with this statement.
The warmth it emitted periodically should be when this mark was at work.
"Combining our understanding of all the All Races of the Universe and Ye Zhongming's itinerary, we believe this mark was most likely left by the Divine Eye."
Divine Eye?!
The terrifying shadow appeared in Ye Zhongming's mind, a power that overshadowed the entire Divine Artisan City with divine level equipment by its own might.
"Although this is a conjecture, there’s a method to prove it," the Old Dean suddenly said, "Contact Zizikaba and ask about their situation."
It was impossible to make contact within the Library Palace, but soon someone utilized the rules to exit the Library Palace and communicated with the intelligence system. They reported back that Zizikaba and Zike also had similar marks on their backs.
