Boom!
The entire ground shook violently, and for the first time, the boundary that had caused many Cloud Summit People headaches appeared to sway significantly in front of them, along with an exceptionally eye-catching white area.
"Is that... broken?" Bai Feng said excitedly as he rubbed his bald head, rekindling hope for today’s venture into the oasis.
However, the Cloud Summit Warriors, who had begun to get excited, were taken aback when Ye Zhongming punched the boundary and flew back.
"Boss!"
Everyone was puzzled, thinking that a few more punches should be enough to break the boundary.
But what they received in return was Ye Zhongming shaking his head.
"No, it’s not broken. That area indeed showed some abnormality, but it’s not damaged, and it’s rapidly repairing itself."
There was another point Ye Zhongming didn’t mention: if one kept punching a specific spot with the same force as before, it could indeed shatter the boundary, but it would take at least hundreds of punches, and there was a time constraint; it had to be done within a short time frame.
But Ye Zhongming couldn't unleash that many punches in time; after fully exerting himself, he would run out of stamina and energy after about fifty punches.
Perhaps if he had become a great master, he could try it, but right now, it wasn't feasible.
Seeing that Ye Zhongming also failed to succeed, everyone could only give up reluctantly.
Leaving most people behind, Ye Zhongming joined the leaders of the three outer teams to head to the Titan Secret Realm, which was overseen by Bai Feng.
This place was called the Titan Secret Realm, not because there were mythological creatures, but because everything in this secret realm was towering and magnificent.
The flora and fauna were like this, the mountains and rivers were as well, and even the insects and animals followed suit.
A single weed here could tower over a human, and one could not see the peak of a mountain even by craning their neck. Creatures resembling mosquitoes were as large as elephants; they were basically the smallest beings here.
Likewise, the higher lifeforms here were also immense.
"Up to now, we have occupied an area that is roughly equivalent to the size of a four-line city’s downtown during peacetime. In the process, we have suffered casualties of over 170,000."
This was the first time Ye Zhongming had heard this number; he was momentarily stunned and frowned at Bai Feng, who was reporting to him.
Bai Feng wore a bitter smile. "Boss, my team indeed has a large number of members with varying strengths, and the average level isn't high, so there are quite a few deaths here. But a very important reason is that the native lifeforms are strong and numerous. As soon as we appeared, we were continuously attacked by them. Boss, for a full 370 hours, we have been in constant combat. Although we stopped afterward, we never had a break longer than five hours before the fighting restarted."
"It’s truly not easy for us to expand into this area of over 1,500 square kilometers; it’s been built on lives. Thankfully, we had the support of Cloud Summit, allowing us to establish solid defensive fortifications. Otherwise, casualties would have doubled."
Ye Zhongming nodded; he had heard Xia Lei mention that the lifeforms in the Titan Secret Realm were quite powerful and fearless, but he hadn’t realized they were this ferocious.
He looked around and noticed that towering walls over fifty meters high had been constructed in three directions, while in another direction, the wall was only about twenty meters high, clearly shorter by a considerable amount.
They had just emerged from the Key of the Hidden Realm at the center of this not-yet-constructed city.
It seemed that the location wasn’t ideal, with no defenses to hold, so they had to rely on strength and numbers to withstand the initial onslaught; that was probably why the losses were so heavy.
The entire city was bustling with activity; even when many people noticed the King of Cloud Summit had arrived, they merely clenched their fists in excitement and shouted "Boss!" enthusiastically before returning to their tasks.
