A rebound force immediately transmitted from his fingertips.
The force wasn't strong, but with Ye Zhongming's perception, he keenly grasped that there was a power at the boundary. After rebounding from him, it was spreading in all directions from the point of contact.
Ye Zhongming slowly pressed his palm against it again. Since both sides' attacks had never ceased, countless fluctuations transmitted from his palm to his heart. The King of Cloud Summit stood there, and the others didn't dare to disturb him; they could only continue to launch attacks inside that weren't very effective.
This situation lasted for nearly twenty minutes!
Ye Zhongming removed his hand from the boundary, but his brows remained tightly knitted.
In his view, this boundary, whether it was some kind of equipment or the ability of a powerful being, would have a limit. Once that limit was exceeded, this thing, clearly composed of energy, would naturally break.
Ye Zhongming felt that if he and all the Cloud Summit warriors who had come here together made a move, they could definitely reach that limit and break through the boundary.
However, after Ye Zhongming's earlier exploration, he discovered that this boundary could actually transmit the energy it bore to the ground. Moreover, when he explored the air, this thing would also create a mysterious connection with the atmosphere.
This meant that trying to solve the problem by breaking through the limit might require destroying a large area of land around it, and perhaps even blasting the air itself away.
If that were the case, forget about the hundreds of thousands of people here; even calling all the Cloud Summit warriors over might only be a possibility, and there was still a high chance it wouldn't work.
“Stop,” Ye Zhongming commanded, ordering everyone to retreat.
“Boss, why are we retreating? Can't we try attacking together first and see if we can break that thing?”
Bai Feng looked at the 'delicious' oasis right in front of him, unable to move, feeling extremely anxious. His thoughts were very similar to Ye Zhongming's; he believed that not breaking this thing was due to insufficient strength and thought that great strength could work miracles.
“No, we can't,” Ye Zhongming shook his head. “These boundaries should be some kind of equipment. The power of our attacks has been reduced, which should all have been absorbed by that equipment. The more we hit it, the more energy it stores, and the harder it is for us to break through.”
The others listened, puzzled.
Some kind of equipment? Equipment that every oasis has? If that’s the case, then it shows that the equipment manufacturing level here is very high. But in their encounters with these natives, they found that their gear was quite basic, mostly made from natural materials that had been processed into weapons and equipment. The best they had seen was equivalent to the golden-level gear back on Earth.
If these boundaries were produced by some kind of equipment, it would have to be at the purple level. Does the Desert Secret Realm really have so many purple-level pieces of equipment?
Ye Zhongming nodded affirmatively.
Based on his earlier feelings, he formed this judgment.
Ye Zhongming recalled the sensation he experienced while touching it; his thoughts became clearer. He felt that the energy dispersing in the sky was chaotic, merely spreading into the nearby air.
But on the ground, it was different.
Very little of the filtered energy penetrated underground; most disappeared after fluctuating downward for ten meters or transmitted laterally. Moreover, the transmission concentrated on the surface was extremely orderly, all directed toward the center of the oasis, which was protected by the boundary.
Although energy was still lost midway during this process, confusing Ye Zhongming earlier, he later realized that most of the energy's path was indeed traceable.
Since that was the case, Ye Zhongming could almost certainly affirm that these boundaries should originate from some kind of equipment. Of course, some life forms might achieve this as well, but the sheer number of boundaries made that option virtually impossible.
