Pao Bai's words echoed in the cave, seemingly without much effect. However, in a place where everyone temporarily could not see, Little Brother Jiu's already terrifying face twisted and began to deform.
The changes in his body and genes had rendered Little Brother Jiu no longer a normal person. He was rational, yet had become extreme. Hearing these people say they found their way here because he was too foolish made his heart feel like it was going to explode. Anger and hatred consumed him entirely.
He felt this was an insult to him, a slight to his intelligence. Originally, his mental state had already deteriorated to the point where he was no longer human nor ghost. Now, upon hearing this, it further provoked this once-calm hunter from Earth.
He started to pant heavily, his long neck retracting and condensing together, gradually forming a rounded and thick body. At this moment, it became evident that behind Little Brother Jiu, there was another cave, with his neck extending into it.
During a brief moment, Wen Hong caught a glimpse of Little Brother Jiu through the reflection on her metal weapon. After realizing his condition, she said nothing and suddenly took three steps forward, willing to risk injury and being hit by those symbols to do so.
At first, Jie Su and the white dragon horse did not understand why. Later, they realized it was to make room for Little Brother Jiu.
Pao Bai made his move for the first time as Wen Hong suddenly stepped forward. He emerged silently from the shadow on Wen Hong's left side, approaching his target like a ghost.
Wen Hong was initially engaged in a fierce struggle with the white dragon horse when Pao Bai struck at the precise moment she was exerting force. The silver commander appeared without a hint of killing intent, and by the time Wen Hong noticed, one of Pao Bai's hands had suddenly erupted with light, about to strike her arm.
Wen Hong knew there was no time to dodge. She let out a muffled groan, and a layer of metallic color emerged on the area of her arm that was about to be touched.
The light landed on her arm, resulting in two astonishing transformations.
First, Wen Hong's arm suddenly caved in at one spot, the thick limb becoming only half its original size, as if caused by Pao Bai's attack, yet it also felt like it wasn’t entirely so.
The second change was that after Pao Bai's attack, he vanished again. Just like before, nobody knew where he went, and when he reappeared, he was behind Wen Hong.
He was now very close to where he had just attacked, except he had moved from the side to her rear.
What was terrifying was that Pao Bai’s hand had somehow already reached the position under Wen Hong’s raised arm, at her armpit.
Pao Bai's arm shot upward, and Wen Hong's left arm detached from her body.
It happened too fast, faster than Wen Hong could react.
However, Wen Hong had been a master back on Earth, and she was the same here. Just as she realized what was happening, the iron chains that had been connected to her body moved. The two closest chains suddenly lashed out at Pao Bai, completing a counterattack just as Wen Hong's severed arm was falling toward the ground.
Pao Bai disappeared again, leaving behind a trail of blood.
After seeing Ye Zhongming for the first time, Wen Hong lost control of her emotions once more. She roared and howled, as if she had gone insane.
Perhaps, she and Little Brother Jiu had already gone mad.
From her wound, countless metal strands erupted, long conical tentacle-like objects that were black and yellow, continually extending, sometimes intertwining, and sometimes spreading outwards.
At the same time, the iron chains behind her flew to the front, forming an array of whips of varying lengths that crazily attacked the white dragon horse and Jie Su.
The metallic nature of these whips allowed them to rapidly regenerate even if a segment was cut off or destroyed, and their power left marks on the white dragon horse.
At this moment, both Wen Hong and the white dragon horse were surrounded by a halo, a phenomenon uniquely present when powerful experts fought desperately.
