Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2221: Trapped in Desolation 🌌

Published: February 13, 2025

Three peak experts, along with Ye Zhongming, faced little danger even as numerous parasites came to obstruct them, only delaying their progress slightly.

"Look, the exit!" Pao Bai shouted at one point. Rather than seeing light ahead, he recognized the defensive measures set up by the Alliance of Small Races, of which he was one of the overseers.

Jie Su confirmed that this was indeed the exit, noting the increasingly distinct signs of formations on the ground.

These formations posed no challenge for Jie Su, and wherever he walked, they all became ineffective.

Soon, the three people and one dragon rushed out of the cave!

In the desolate land, some members of the Alliance of Small Races were patrolling.

With the main forces having already departed, the number of remaining warriors was not large, and each small team had to cover significantly larger areas. They understood that any mistakes at this moment would be irreparable, so they were extremely diligent in their inspections, fearful of overlooking something.

At the same time, they constantly prayed that the mutated creatures and parasites would not attack the base at this critical time. Although they had the Armor Pressure Sky Cover for protection and plenty of energy reserves, the sheer size of the base meant that during a battle, each person was responsible for too vast an area. If they faced continuous attacks, they lacked confidence in holding the line.

Just then, a sudden commotion came from the direction of the Half Abyss Demon Cave. The nearby patrol teams rushed over, their faces pale as they feared the worst: that the parasites from the Half Abyss Demon Cave had launched an attack, meaning the desolate land would soon find itself surrounded by enemies!

However, they were the first to see a massive figure flying into the desolate land, oddly enough, the Armor Pressure Sky Cover did not activate.

Could it be... that even their most relied-upon defensive facility had failed?

The team looked at the approaching life forms, and one of the Star-Eye Clan members suddenly said, "It looks like our commander’s battle beast."

In the next moment, three figures leaped down from the dragon's back—Jie Su, Pao Bai, and Ye Zhongming.

The return of the three people and one dragon immediately caused an uproar at the base.

Ordinary soldiers were unaware of the situation, but some mid-to-high-ranking members of the Su Clan and Star-Eye Clan recognized them and rushed over to make contact. Upon learning that the main force had left for a long time, a few of them sighed helplessly.

The worst fears had indeed come true.

They had spent many days within the mountain's belly, or rather, they had been delayed for a long time in the chaotic time-space of teleportation, leading to the current predicament.

The Su Clan and the Alliance of Small Races had decided to take a desperate gamble and head towards the Hall People, with the aim of rescuing their comrades. Conflict was inevitable.

But those were the Hall People! Not only did they have hundreds of thousands of warriors, but also a number of peak experts, and even one peak master stationed there. Just going in like that would lead to a predictable outcome.

After carefully inquiring about their departure time, the three people and one dragon made a judgment: if they set off now, they should still be in time.

Of course, even if it was too late, they wanted to see for themselves.

"Teleporting from the mountain's belly, every second earlier we arrive might save more surviving clansmen," Ye Zhongming said before preparing to return with the three people and one dragon, but he noticed the Mechanical Genius and the little girl.

"What are you doing? I'm going too!"

The Mechanical Genius had sensed something from the moment the white dragon horse appeared, and now, seeing Ye Zhongming and the others busy, he had been watching closely, eager to follow them.

Ye Zhongming and the others knew they couldn’t let anyone else enter the Half Abyss Demon Cave. The remaining numbers here wouldn’t make much of an impact inside, only increasing casualties. They felt that they also couldn’t give up; if they failed there, at least some seeds would remain here.
