CHAPTER TEXT:
“Stay steady, stay steady!”
Ye Zhongming had to shout loudly at this moment.
These soldiers had indeed progressed rapidly under his training, and their cooperation with one another had become increasingly tacit. Their equipment had also been replaced by Ye Zhongming, looking completely new, all in order to ensure that they could survive as much as possible in direct confrontations and even gain some advantages.
But first, they needed to calm down and not be afraid.
These individuals were all excellent warriors who had experienced life and death; however, the current situation was different from before.
In the past, they might have faced the All Races of the Universe, mutated beings, or parasites, but one thing was certain: they had never encountered such a multitude of enemies before. The seemingly endless tide of foes was enough to crush one’s spirit just by sight.
The path leading to the Layered Water Desolation varied in width; the widest part was in the central position, resembling a gourd, and was several tens of meters wide.
The other place was the junction currently guarded by the first squad, which was nearly a hundred meters wide. As it narrowed upwards, the area where the first squad was stationed was roughly fifty meters wide.
Along with some individuals from the Long Void Water Clan and Ye Zhongming, there were less than fifty people guarding this spot, making them appear very small and fragile.
Ye Zhongming had to instill confidence in them.
This confidence couldn’t be built merely by words; it had to come from results.
The fierce heavyhide beasts charged like a dark cloud pressing down, quickly reaching the edge of the path. Each of these monsters was about two meters wide, ensuring they wouldn’t interfere with one another during the charge, maintaining a certain distance between them.
So even though there was a hundred-meter width, only about thirty of them could run side by side. As they advanced, their numbers diminished, and by the time they reached the front of the first squad, it was estimated that only around fifteen would remain.
However, even with such a small number, it still gave off a feeling of impending disaster. Moreover, the feathered surge above them had already swept past and was moving toward the base, with some even heading towards the first squad.
“Don’t pay attention to the sky, ranged fighters prepare!”
Ye Zhongming had to suppress the impulse of several warriors who were about to look upwards.
The moment the first fierce heavyhide beast touched the path, a red energy net suddenly appeared within a radius of fifteen meters. This net first manifested on the ground and paused briefly before beginning to rise at a moderate speed.
The fierce heavyhide beasts served as vanguards; their characteristics were excellent defense, strong impact, robust bodies, and high resistance to damage.
In simple terms, these creatures were meant for breaking formations, attracting firepower, and breaching defenses to open passages for the larger forces behind them.
Knowing this didn’t prevent the Alliance of Small Races from attacking them; they absolutely couldn’t let them charge in. Otherwise, defending the base would be exceedingly difficult.
As the red energy net ascended, several of the leading fierce heavyhide beasts collapsed with a loud thump.
If one had to pinpoint their weakness, it would be their relatively thin legs. The red energy net had a strong thermal cutting ability; while it might not sever their legs outright, it could still injure them.
After that, they stumbled and fell, trampled by their kind behind them, which was sufficient.
The previously organized and intimidating charging team immediately fell into chaos.
On the path, there were not just warriors defending various spots but also distributed formations.
Although not as dense and powerful as those from the Su Clan, they were still sufficiently strong.
At the same time, the Armor Pressure Sky Cover began its assault, with beams of light shooting down in waves, targeting the aggressive flying creatures first, causing them to tumble down.
