Three methods, each with its pros and cons, left everyone struggling to make a decision.
After discussing for half a day, they ultimately decided to take the third approach, which was to gamble on these Demon Caves. They simply did not have the energy or confidence to explore and confront this crisis. Choosing the Layered Water Desolation essentially meant taking a risk under a certain assurance, seeking great wealth.
However, the feeling that the Demon Caves had given everyone lately was increasingly dangerous. If they could ensure that nothing happened there, it would better align with everyone's interest. As for whether sealing these caves would provoke dangers within them, that was a risk that had to be taken; they would just gamble on their luck.
Regarding how to seal the Demon Caves, everyone had carefully discussed it and decided to adopt a comprehensive approach. Simply put, they would use the defense fortress located 500 meters from the cave entrances as the tip of the spear, with the formation at the back corridor as the core, complemented by defensive works at the cave mouth, and finally seal it with heavy metal machinery and special materials!
After so many days, the caves had basically been explored, and the remaining ones could also be completed in a very short time. The layout of the formations was about two-thirds finished, and the remaining smaller formations would be easy for the Su Clan as long as they had enough manpower and materials. Previously, the slow progress was due to a lack of manpower, but with more people, efficiency could be improved by several times.
At least twenty thousand people were concentrated on sealing the caves. With sufficient materials, they could seal the previously explored entrances in about half an hour, and each entrance required at most twenty people. Thus, within just one hour, they had essentially sealed half of the caves. The remaining ones, although still needing exploration, would take a bit longer, but two hours would be enough.
This was the result of having more manpower and sufficient logistical support. The Su Clan and the Star-Eye Clan both placed great importance on logistics, especially since the latter had also seized everything from the Radiant Tang Clan...
While everyone was feverishly sealing the caves, the mutated creatures around the Layered Water Desolation finally completed their temporary power distribution and began to act upon this land filled with over two hundred thousand portions of nutritious “food.”
It was unclear if it was a prearranged plan, but the three factions of mutated lifeforms seemed to move at almost the same time.
…………………………
Deep within the cave, there was now some light.
“You know I hate the light.” Compared to their last meeting, the man's voice was much calmer this time.
The woman had no expression under the dim firelight; even if she had one, it was hidden in the shadows.
“You have to adapt, even if in the future you will fight here. The situation won't always be as you expect. I've observed that man; he might not be as strong as you or me now, but he is progressing rapidly. Being able to enter the universe through regular channels means he is likely the best person from Earth.”
“This time, we must kill him. Otherwise, we will never have another chance.”
There was something different in the woman's emotions.
“Are you afraid?” The man said with a hint of mockery.
“Yes, I am afraid.” The woman unexpectedly admitted. “I’m not afraid of death, but I’m afraid I won't be able to kill Ye Zhongming, just like when we were on Earth. Back then, Ye Zhongming and Cloud Summit were far less than us.”
“Also, our luck has given us our current strength, but it’s outside of the system. We can't measure how strong we are. Do you think we are stronger than the great experts? Here, you certainly have to be stronger than them. But the fact is, we might not be able to lure them in.”
The two fell silent again.
They believed that each had the capability to kill Ye Zhongming individually, but Ye Zhongming was not alone. He had too many comrades by his side, including several great experts, whom they were uncertain if they could deal with.
