Chapter 2031: Direct Lineage Three Branches 🌳

Yao Han Su's hands slowly fell to his sides, and the almost violent energy nearby gradually dissipated.

The ground beneath him was already cracked.

His wife approached with a smile, handing him a towel to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

"With your training frequency, the clan will go bankrupt repairing the ground."

Hearing his wife's words, Yao Han Su laughed heartily and said after wiping his sweat, "I’ve already given my rewards back to the clan. If they dare to ask me for money again, I’ll beat them up!"

His wife laughed along, "That's right, you're amazing. No one in the entire Su Clan can beat you now."

"Of course!"

Yao Han Su was not modest at all.

As the leader of the Su Clan, Yao Han Su was not a genius in the past; all he could do was perfect two of the ten great arrays.

Historically, there had been hundreds of clan leaders with his level of ability. Though not particularly weak, he was definitely on the lower end of the spectrum.

Truly talented individuals should master at least five or more of the ten great arrays!

Until... he developed the adaptable formation.

No matter who it was, whether it was a member of the Su Clan or even past clan leaders and powerful figures rising from their graves, they could not deny that this was a revolutionary innovation for the Su Clan.

This meant that the weakness of the Su Clan's inability to fight randomly had disappeared. They would no longer fear encounters with other races and still retain their unique ethnic characteristics.

Yao Han Su's invention of the adaptable formation was undoubtedly a sign of the resurgence of the Su Clan.

This also allowed the clan leader to leap from ranking at most in the top ten of the clan's combat power to becoming the undisputed number one.

If it weren't for array battles, Yao Han Su could crush any clan elder in combat.

Even in array competitions, after successfully mastering the adaptable formation, Fuleira rapidly improved and was no longer afraid of anyone. Now, his grasp of the third of the ten great arrays had surpassed eighty percent, while the others were all over fifty percent.

He sat down in front of the dinner his wife had prepared and began to eat, saying between bites, "That rookie from the Star-Eye Clan has arrived, right?"

"He has," his wife replied as she ate with him, but she glanced at her husband and added, "You seem quite concerned about him."

Yao Han Su smiled and denied it, "Who said that? I was just asking casually."

His wife set down her utensils and, with a half-smile, said to her husband, "Since this person and Jie Su won the rookie battlefield victory, you’ve mentioned his name eight times over the past few months. The most recent five times were since Jie Su returned. In such a short span, mentioning a non-Su Clan member five times is quite unusual, don’t you think?"

"If it were some big shot, it would be fine, but this is just a small figure from a minor clan. Fuleira has only a few thousand members. Do you think that’s normal?"

In response to his wife's question, Yao Han Su was unfazed and also set down his utensils, saying, "Alright, I admit I have a bit of interest in this guy, but that interest isn’t about him personally."

His wife paused for a moment and then said, "Are you feeling unwilling?"

"Should I feel unwilling?" Yao Han Su countered.

"Is this why you want to cultivate Jie Su as your successor? Do you know what kind of uproar this idea would create within the Su Clan if it got out? You’re defying tradition and rules, and you would… have no one supporting you."

His wife looked at him with concern, not wanting things to escalate out of control.

The Su Clan appeared to be the most united among the three major factions; however, it was not without internal crises, the greatest being the long-standing inheritance system.

The Su Clan has three direct lines, and each of these lines has the right to vie for the position of clan leader. The three lines partake in a rotation system for leadership, which is an unshakeable principle unless under extremely special circumstances.
