Shiyong and Ouchong opened their eyes almost simultaneously.
They exchanged a smile, both feeling a sense of relief.
They were the key bargaining chips in this negotiation with the Su Clan, or at least that’s what lord ling said, and so they believed it. They needed to master a certain ability that the commander had taught them. Fortunately, just as the spaceship was about to land on the Survivor Fortress of the Su Clan, they succeeded.
The two turned back to look at the hundred people behind them. These brothers and sisters had the same excited expressions on their faces; they knew that the Assault Camp was no longer the same as before.
Instead, it was a force that would ultimately stand tall among the All Races of the Universe!
One day later, Jie Su sent a spaceship to pick up Ye Zhongming, which landed at the spaceport in the Survivor Fortress of the Su Clan.
…………………………
Jie Su sat quietly in his chair, sipping a drink in front of him.
Opposite him sat another man, also drinking something, but it looked like some kind of blood.
"Although you are a direct descendant of the Su Clan and your rank isn't low, you should be aware that unless a major accident occurs, you are unlikely to become the leader of the Su Clan in the future. Perhaps a position as an elder would be your limit," the man said.
Jie Su listened without any change in expression.
"It cannot be denied that you have mastered the silk sea light array and are using it well. Your performance in the novice battlefield has shown your potential, but that doesn’t mean much; the opponents' strength is simply too low," the man continued, smiling as he observed the silent Jie Su.
He tilted his head back and poured half a cup of that liquid into his mouth, then looked at Jie Su and said, "Moreover, you are still young, and your clan leader is also young. Your elders can live for many years. If you truly want to become one of the most powerful figures in the Su Clan, it will take many years even under the best conditions. I really do not have that kind of patience."
Jie Su remained silent, finishing his drink until the cup was empty, with not a single drop left.
The man glanced at him and smiled.
"Twelve flying vessels, including four 'Tao Hai' class transport ships and eight 'Luo Fu' class frigates. Just for these, the one million Moon Age Gold you gave me won’t even cover a quarter of the cost."
"And this doesn’t even account for the ongoing costs associated with opening the routes as you requested," the man said while crossing his arms. "You know that to make many people turn a blind eye, you need to use Moon Age Gold to make them close their eyes."
"If what you can offer is merely what you are currently promising, it really isn't enough."
After saying this, the man finished the remaining blood-like liquid, indicating that he was ending today's conversation.
Jie Su let out a breath, shaking his head self-deprecatingly as he stood up.
"Regardless, I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me."
He bowed respectfully to the imposing man and took his leave, beginning to think about how to explain this to Ye Zhongming.
He originally thought it would be a straightforward matter, but it was clear he had overestimated his current position.
However, Jie Su was not particularly discouraged because, in his view, if it succeeded, that would be best; if it didn’t, that was fine too.
"Is that it? You're giving up?" the man suddenly asked.
Jie Su raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled at this very famous figure among the super clans and large clans.
"Did I say I disagreed?" the man replied with a smile.
"You..." Jie Su's eyes widened slightly, not understanding why the man's attitude had suddenly changed.
"Sit down," the man said, motioning to the chair with a nod.
Jie Su obediently sat down.
In front of this man, he truly didn’t have the qualifications to maintain his pride.
"You young people, too impatient."
A handsome young man stood behind the man and chuckled upon hearing this, thinking that Jie Su's temperament was not impatient at all; it was entirely the man himself who was making it seem that way.
