The events that occurred in the Bronze Camp quickly spread throughout the corners of the Star-Eye Clan.
There was no way around it; the death of the deputy commander was a major event, especially considering it was caused by the newly appointed commander. Additionally, a thousand-man commander also lost his life in the incident.
This was undoubtedly a matter that would cause a stir throughout the entire clan!
Even though Ye Zhongming had established his authority through this incident, making all the warriors of the Bronze Camp fear him, no one dared to cover up the news. It likely only took five minutes before the high-ranking members of the Star-Eye Clan were aware of it, and within ten minutes, the entire clan knew as well.
However, what puzzled those waiting for a response from the Bronze Camp was that after the news was sent out, it seemed to vanish without a trace. From the clan leader to others, no one provided any feedback.
This made many astute individuals realize that the newly appointed commander of the Bronze Camp had received unconditional support from the clan. It didn’t matter if he had only killed Kalan Ka and Ling Jiao; even if he were to clean out all the disobedient members of the Bronze Camp, he wouldn't receive a single bit of reproach.
So, when the twenty minutes were up, all the warriors of the Bronze Camp gathered at the training ground.
Indeed, everyone was present. Even those on missions returned.
After all, the tasks of the bronze masked warriors were all within the clan; they weren't yet qualified to accept external missions.
Everyone had arrived, but Ye Zhongming hadn’t shown up, and no one dared to express dissatisfaction.
The gathered bronze warriors learned from various mid-level commanders about the process of Kalan Ka and Ling Jiao's deaths. What could they possibly complain about when faced with a newly appointed commander who could eliminate two powerful figures in an instant?
Half an hour passed, then an hour, and finally two hours. It wasn't until nearly three hours past the designated assembly time that Ye Zhongming slowly walked out from the command building and approached the bronze masked warriors.
“Now, all hundred-man commanders and above, please report your names to me again.”
Ye Zhongming’s voice came across calmly, yet to the bronze masked warriors, it carried an indescribable chilling tone.
“I am Zhong Hongke, the first thousand-man commander of the Bronze Camp.”
“I am…”
Some individuals had introduced themselves just a few hours prior, but this time, it was clear they were taking their introductions more seriously.
About ten minutes later, all hundred-man commanders and their deputies had introduced themselves.
These mid-level commanders stood at the very front of the formation, while Ye Zhongming faced them.
“Very well, then I will announce a few things. Jie Kui.”
As Ye Zhongming’s voice fell, a figure gradually emerged in front of him.
The entire Bronze Camp fell silent.
Jie Kui appeared in a peculiar position, two steps away from Ye Zhongming and about five steps from the mid-level commanders.
Five steps was far from distant; one could say it was almost within reach. Yet not a single person had noticed Jie Kui’s advance or realized when he had arrived.
If he had launched a surprise attack…
The outcome might have been the same as Ye Zhongming's ambush on Kalan Ka.
“Effective today, Jie Kui will take over Ling Jiao's position as commander of the three thousand.”
“Effective today, all thousand-man commanders will enter the assessment period. After the assessment, the two most outstanding will be promoted to deputy commander.”
A commotion erupted below.
This was unprecedented.
Due to the need for balance within a combat team, both the commander and deputy commander were directly appointed by the clan, meaning the commander did not have the authority to appoint their own deputy. They could only make suggestions at most.
But now, Ye Zhongming stated he would select deputy commanders from among the thousand-man commanders, which was shocking.
