Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1813: The Doll in My Arms ❤️

Published: February 12, 2025

Ye Zhongming and Jie Kui were standing within the canopy of a towering tree, looking in a certain direction outside.

If those people were still following them, they would inevitably enter the line of sight of the two. They wanted to see who these persistent pursuers were. Being tracked like a parasite was an uncomfortable feeling.

Jie Kui, however, didn’t mind much. He sensed something was off, but if he didn’t want to confront these people head-on, then avoiding them was the best option. Hadn’t they done well before? Not only did they earn points, but they also made their pursuers exhausted.

He and Ye Zhongming were very careful to cover their tracks, which wasn’t a difficult task for them. The Star-Eye Clan had some of the best techniques in this regard among the All Races of the Universe.

Just drag it out and see who gets eliminated in the three-day cycle.

But since Ye Zhongming was the boss, Jie Kui still followed his lead.

However, it had been a while, hadn’t it? According to their previous estimates, those pursuing them should have revealed themselves by now.

Ye Zhongming instinctively frowned, a feeling of unease rising in his heart.

“We should go,” Ye Zhongming suddenly said.

When something feels off, there’s usually a reason for it. The people who were supposed to appear at this time had not shown up, leading to too many possibilities, each a potential surprise.

“Wait a minute,” Jie Kui stopped him, lifting his chin towards that direction, “They’re coming.”

Ye Zhongming halted his turning body and looked toward the end of his line of sight.

There, seven shadows appeared.

Just this number added a bit more unease in Ye Zhongming’s heart.

It seemed like there were fewer when he first used the sensing technique.

“Netherworld region star people?”

Jie Kui's expression changed slightly, referring to a lifeform wearing a white robe, floating in mid-air.

Ye Zhongming had seen their healing techniques while studying the All Races of the Universe, but he had only skimmed through it due to time constraints.

This race was an intelligent energy being, not numerous in number, but because of their uniqueness, they generally possessed high strength and often had some strange abilities. Their racial advantage was powerful individual strength and skill effectiveness. Their weakness was their small population and evident flaws, particularly a very poor defense against mental attacks.

“Hey, is that the girl?”

Jie Kui spoke again, this time his gaze locked onto a very short lifeform. From such a distance, everyone first noticed her knife before they spotted her beneath it.

Ye Zhongming also saw her. The reason Jie Kui used this tone was that during last night’s trial, this girl had performed exceptionally well, rampaging through the camp and fiercely fighting any opponent she grabbed onto, being wildly brave. The two even picked up materials discarded by this girl.

“Uh-oh!”

Jie Kui whispered, his body tensing up.

“That bald guy with barely any hair is a Tear Hound Ghost Clan member, very skilled at tracking!”

Previously, Jie Kui hadn’t paid much attention to this unexpected pursuit, but now he showed extreme caution. Ye Zhongming could clearly sense that his companion… wanted to kill.

Yes, Jie Kui wasn’t afraid or terrified, but he was filled with a killing intent.

“The tracking of Tear Hound Ghost Clan members is very purposeful. Once they fixate on a target, they will use their abilities to follow indefinitely. There are only two outcomes: either they give up on their own, or the target forces them to.”

Ye Zhongming knew about these lifeforms and had a general understanding of them. Jie Kui seemed to have researched this aspect more than Ye Zhongming.

“Can we shake them off?”

“Extremely difficult.” Jie Kui hesitated but still spoke the truth, “At least with our current abilities, it’s basically impossible to shake them off.”

“Actually, thanks to our backing from the Star-Eye Clan, we excel at erasing and hiding traces. If it were someone else, they would have been caught long ago.”
