Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1806: Foggy Forest (Part One) 🌫️🌳

Published: February 12, 2025

A rumbling sound came from outside, and one by one, warriors clad in mechanical armor surged in. Seeing this scene, the newcomers immediately halted and retreated to safer areas.

These warriors weren't particularly strong, at least in Ye Zhongming's eyes. They seemed to be at most at ninth-level evolution, and were among the more ordinary ones.

However, with the assistance of their mechanical armor and their well-coordinated formation, those once troublesome mutated creatures and parasites were slaughtered without a chance to fight back.

Soon, the newbie camp stabilized, and all the bodies were dragged away.

The recorder placed above their eyes displayed a number: 30143. After a few seconds, the number rotated and quickly settled at 30098.

Everyone quickly understood that this must be the number of newcomers.

In other words, during the brief chaos just now, forty-five newcomers had perished.

Ye Zhongming looked at the wrecked camp and felt a sense of sorrow.

These warriors were probably the elite from their respective planets, or soldiers carefully cultivated by various races to compete for spots. They certainly had strength and status, but tragically, they hadn't even reached the official matches before dying like this.

Was this their sorrow? Or the sorrow of the universe?

The Zizikaba, which had previously vanished, flew back into the air after the camp gate closed. Looking down at the newcomers who collectively raised their heads to gaze at him, he said, "The recorder will announce the rewards for this raid. Meanwhile, the official shop will open, where you can exchange points for items, and you can also use materials and magic crystals."

After saying that, he left, completely different from the imposing demeanor he had when announcing the rules earlier.

The newcomers turned their gazes to the grandest building in the camp, and some of them rushed inside after just a few seconds.

They had just received their points as a reward.

"Shall we go take a look?" Jie Kui said with a hint of eagerness, while sighing slightly in his heart.

He had completely agreed with Ye Zhongming's approach earlier and believed it was the best choice.

But now, who would have thought that the rewards would be issued later? He was curious about how much they had received. He thought that since he and Ye Zhongming had some materials, though not valuable, there were quite a few—could selling them earn them something?

Ye Zhongming guessed that these materials probably wouldn't be worth much. The birdman had said that the items there were exorbitantly priced, exploiting newcomers.

But it was worth a look, at least to see what was for sale, so he would have an idea of the market.

The two of them stood in place for a while, as there were too many people in the shop, making it impossible to squeeze in.

Some of the Yangos had their heads poking in, while sounds of people being crushed could be heard from inside.

Of course, they were simply unwilling to return to the Star-Eye Clan's resting area; that place was unbearable for anyone, especially since their tents had collapsed.

After waiting for about an hour, the crowd thinned out significantly, and Ye Zhongming and Jie Kui finally walked inside.

The space inside was vast, divided into two levels, separated by an energy shield. There was only one entrance between the upper and lower levels, which was a Light Gate. The recorder indicated that only those with over three hundred points could enter.

The first floor looked somewhat empty, with ten machines arranged around it. To the left of the machines were physical screens, and on the other side was a low platform. In the center of the platform was a tightly closed metal door shaped like fan blades. The former was likely the operational screen, while the latter served as a storage rack.

Although there were fewer people inside, there were still individuals gathered in front of the ten machines, so Ye Zhongming and Jie Kui could only wait.

Coincidentally, just as they were waiting for a machine to free up, members of the Spear Clan entered from outside.
