The students and teachers who had just been shouting at Ye Zhongming suddenly fell silent.
"You, how can you do this? Our demands are very reasonable!"
Teacher Park didn’t know whether to feel angry or scared, her face flushed as she stared at Ye Zhongming, arguing her point. In her view, this was an equivalent exchange, just like the mathematical principles she taught.
However, she didn’t expect that what she thought was reasonable would be scoffed at by this man with a knife.
"There is no reason in this world, only strength and weakness."
Ye Zhongming clearly had no interest in wasting time here, revealing the cold, hard laws of the apocalypse to these hopeful peers.
These students and teachers lacked courage; otherwise, they wouldn't be hiding in the classroom instead of fighting for their lives against Ye Zhongming, who resembled a fierce deity, wielding his gleaming knife. They dared not resist.
Only Teacher Park still had some backbone and was the most perceptive of the situation. She clearly understood that without this man's help, her chances of survival with her colleagues and these students were very slim.
She gritted her teeth, trying to suppress her inner fear, defiantly staring at Ye Zhongming, clearly not prepared to yield.
"You must save us!"
Ye Zhongming looked at this female teacher who was trying to secure benefits for everyone and suddenly smiled, lowering his knife, which made everyone breathe a sigh of relief. But before they could fully relax, a handgun was pointed at a female student.
"What are you doing!?"
"Hey, hey, you!"
This action startled everyone, causing them to gasp. The female student trembled, afraid to move.
"Tell me, or I will kill everyone here one by one." Ye Zhongming smirked, "Or, I could just feed you to the zombies."
Ye Zhongming was not making threats; he would really act. Ten years in the apocalypse had hardened his heart like iron. Aside from those brothers and loved ones who had entered his heart through iron blood and tenderness in his previous life, he never showed mercy to other lives.
It wasn’t just him; everyone in the apocalypse was like this, even more so. At least Ye Zhongming had people he trusted, while many survivors only believed in themselves.
This murderous intent and resolute attitude caused these people to completely collapse. The girl being threatened by his gun started to plead with her teacher through her tears, asking her to tell Ye Zhongming the address. Others also began to persuade her, completely abandoning their earlier solidarity. Now, Teacher Park seemed more like their enemy rather than Ye Zhongming, who was holding the gun.
Disappointment filled Teacher Park’s face. She never expected that when confronting this killer, her colleagues and students would not help her, but instead would relinquish their future guarantees for the sake of immediate threats. What a shortsighted bunch.
Her finger pressed against the trigger, causing the crowd to stir again under the flashlight’s glow. One of the female colleagues suddenly blurted out an address, explaining that it was mentioned by Teacher Park during a previous conversation.
Teacher Park painfully closed her eyes. She had already lost hope and never expected that to help them escape, she would bargain with this man at the risk of being killed, only for them to give away their only bargaining chip.
Perhaps, in their view, returning to the classroom to barricade the door and wait for rescue was better than being killed one by one.
Ye Zhongming lowered the gun. Since he had received an answer, there was no need to kill. As for what would happen to these people, he couldn’t care less. He turned and headed towards the approaching zombies, cutting his way through without even collecting the magic crystals. He needed to hurry to where the Secret Realm Key was located.
Killing his way down from the fourth floor, he noticed more corpses than mutated humans, likely due to the presence of level two zombies before, and there were few survivors.
